Re: Be Ready
There is a precedent set for how WS has responded to a strike vote, look at what happened to the CSA’s. They voted to strike then there was a deal hammered out. I can’t remember the cost associated with that vote (it was stated during some video of the execs), but I’ll be confident in saying the imp...

Take it for what it is, but Alexis stated in the last Exec video that the deal for SunWing will go through. There are many penalties that get actioned if they don’t go through with it.

WJ is not, but ONEX is. WJ is not, but ONEX is. Who owns the buildings and planes if not WJ? I heard some 787 got sold to ONEX and then leased back, is it the case for the whole fleet? I'm sure ONEX has a very good way of making the company profitable again and selling it for a profit in the next 5...

This was posted in the ALPA fastread on Jan 19th. CORRECTING MISINFORMATION ON EKGS Recently, misinformation has been published online about purported changes by the FAA regarding EKG parameters. We have confirmed with the FAA that this information is not correct. The FAA policy on normal ECG varian...

I did some math for a 10 year comparison in wage and company match for WJ and Flair. I assumed a Flair FO upgrades after 3 full years and that the WJ FO upgrades after 7 full years. ... There's your mistake right there. WS upgrades are at 10 years not 7, and for the YYC base 15 years, so for me 5 e...

Guys and gals not all things are bad. While other companies offer better WAWCON and some are offering retention bonuses, apparently Encore offered a free hot/cold beverage from Tim Hortons in Sep. So at least they’re doing something! Really appreciate the kind gesture. Makes me want to work at a co...

Could also be that they realise that half of Encore's pilots are getting ready to leave, and if they don't bring more capacity to yyc they might lose their regional presence there with limited ability to back up attrition with mainline might. Simple question. Are Encore planes parked due to pilot s...

Re: WestJet Announcement.
Southwest has consistently made a profit through good times and bad. There IMO are 2 reasons for this 1) The top brass were operators, not MBA bean counters, so they understood why sweating the operational details was so important. 2) They never deviated from their business model. Westjet used to b...

The kook aid at Flair must have been even more spiked than what westjet used to serve. Ya'll gone real quiet now huh? The results will be made publ...

$60,375? For an FO starting? What does it look like with per diems and whatever else added on? Best not to bank on per diems. Lots of guys on reserve not getting called currently. Re: Sunwing/Westjet
I'm feeling really positive. Seems like a perfect match. Sunwing doesn't have to do the accordion scramble every year to increase fleet size. Westjet gets the largest tour operator in Canada. What I really like though is getting thousands of Canadian pilots under one roof. Step in the right directi...
