Re: Corporate Captain or Airline FO?

I’ve been in this business for 30 years. If you are flip flopping on corporate or airline, go airline now. The hiring frenzy is not gonna go on forever and you’ll want to secure your seniority number as soon as possible for when the slowdown comes. It’s easier to go corporate afterwards if you don’...

Re: Ran out of Gas/Fuel Mismanagement Thread

From TSB.... C-GCGX, a privately registered float-equipped Cessna A185F aircraft was conducting a post- maintenance test flight from Gods Lake, MB, approximately 3 nm east of Gods Lake Narrows Airport (CYGO), MB. The aircraft was being operated on the left fuel tank only due to minimum fuel. While ...

Re: Telemedicine medical question

Renewed my CAT1 today via telemedicine. Easy peasy. I found it ironic given this thread that my CAME reminded me to carry a copy (not glue/tape/laminate) of the renewal that he later emailed me. “Can I just keep an e-copy of the renewal in lieu of the paper copy like I have since we last met?” *laug...

Re: Air Canada a different perspective?

... Porter will be the incumbent #3 filling the gaps cross nation while AC and WS focus on East / West I'm excited to see Porter succeed, but I'm not sure pricing their tickets on par with Air Canada we will ever see them grow to the #3 spot. I selected Nov 21 randomly as a yyz-yvr one way ticket. ...

Air Canada a different perspective?

Good morning all, I am usually the first to snidely say “Air Canada’s motto is that we aren’t happy unless you are unhappy”… Your baggage handlers lost my checked luggage on both the inbound earlier this month and again this evening on the return leg. I was beyond impressed with the expedited respon...

Re: More power to you

Which country? I guarantee you are better off staying put or going to the US than coming to work for an airline here as a new hire FO. Cost of living is insane compounded with the low pay and high taxes. Yes I agree with you, the starting wages are bad everywhere in Canada and the prices are going ...

Re: Helijet extreme lightning strike

A Helijet S-76 experienced a lightning strike yesterday about 10 min after they took off from Victoria on their way to Vancouver. They turned around and landed safe. They were in IMC at 4000 feet and then a big bang, the autopilot disconnected and they reportedly lost all EFIS. It pitched down and ...

Just ask the questions on the forum. It can be your mentor. Then again, if you change your name to HappyEnding78 and meet certain qualifications, you might get a lot of responses. 😂 Happyflyer78, I’m sure I am not the only one from this aviation board that has sent you a PM offering advice. Re: Wow I thought salaries were on the rise

That 130k could be worth it, if the job is all scheduled flying, no on call of any kind, no non flying duties, expense account for food and incidentals on the road. 12 weeks paid vacation. And room to move up over time. 12 week of vacation? I had a half decent owner once upon a time… 12 weeks?!? Ye...

Re: 747 Cockpit view departure Kennedy

Love the 747 and flying into JFK. It's busy, but it's a great airport, especially if you're an Av-Geek like myself. I’ve never heard of anyone proclaim that they “loved flying into JFK”. A comment such as that leads me to believe that you’d previously flown (Ah, rather eventually got out of) KTEB! :D

Woke is a joke. Try asserting your rights to the Russians if your from the eastern block, try doing it with Japanese if your Phillipino or Chinese. To the winner of the spoils and to the conquered the riches. Time for the West to realize this and stop prancing around it. As far as “body art” goes i...

Speak for yourself. Some of us love this industry and our respective positions in it.

You sound jaded as do most if not all of your posts on the Mx side of this forum.

Re: Quick question on how to snag

I thought dealing with a rough running carbureted engine was normal ops lol. Usually either carb icing or incorrect mixture/plug fouling. The importance of leaning out to prevent fouling /blowback and how to properly lean (without getting into the realm of ROP/LOP cruise ops) would make for an exce...

Re: Did you eventually return to flying, or did you never look back?

I've worked in the industry for approximately five years, and it seems like ever since I entered this field, progress has felt like taking one step forward and two steps back. My goal has been to become a 1000-hour Pilot, and I've been working tirelessly to achieve that. Recently, I decided to take...

Hello everyone, I am wondering if anyone know a way, where I can find a FMS simulator. I need to practice, improve my skills. I am open for any idea. Thank you Practicing won’t do you any good if you find (let’s say) a G3000 suite to use only to get hired on a Proline fusion equipped aircraft. Land...
