Re: Snowbird crash in CYKA
Retire the Tutor and transition to the CT-155 Hawk or CT-156 Harvard II for a Canadian aerobatic team. I'm pretty sure this is not an option because these fleets are in a unique situation whereby the aircraft are owned by the Government of Canada, but leased to and maintained and serviced by CAE fo...

Re: Save Our Country & Our Industry
Interesting to see the different and very conflicting viewpoints amongst colleagues here. I'm curious on how things would have turned out if the world simply did nothing, and just let COVID-19 run it's course through the masses without any mitigation and "cull the heard" so to speak, as some seem to...

Re: stolen float plane
Great news! Thanks for the update. It's the 1000th Beaver produced and with this most recent rebuild, it has been rebuilt three times after significant accidents.

Re: stolen float plane
Does anyone happen to know the status of the Beaver (C-FPCG)? Is it going to be repaired and returned to service?

The two people onboard were not injured. Appears to be loss of tail rotor authority for some reason.

Unfortunately it seems that all of the speculation was spot on.
This was a very unfortunate accident.

Re: FedEx quietly begin single-pilot tests - ATR 42
What's coming? A plane that can be flown remotely? Pretty sure that's already been done for some time now. Not just with one pilot, but with NO pilots on board. Can you IMAGINE?! To your point, how much do you want to bet that FedEx is somehow involved with funding this research: https://www....

Re: CYNJ CADORS
You could have reported that to NAV CANADA since ATC is not responsible for enforcement and this is poor form to go on and on unloading on you on the comm.Yeah you made a mistake, but all you needed was to be informed, not berated.godsrcrazy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 2:07 pm That chewing went on and on about how i should have called first.

Re: Tower closure predictions?
Why isn't Hamilton (YHM) on the LOS list? They haven't had over 40,000 movements since 2010, and those movements are spread over a 24 hour period (YHM is open 24 hours). I thought the same thing. Maybe it's coming later once they get the other studies and closures sorted. Mirabel went to an all FSS...

The irony was that the approach plate clipped to the yoke literally said that the airport did not allow jet traffic. Incidentally, Bader Field closed a year later.

Re: Tower closure predictions?
Has there ever been a case of a LOS review where a unit was not downgraded or closed? Seems to me this process is a lot like the HIRA. I believe Windsor underwent an LOS review in the late 90's that was unsuccessful and another in the 2000's that started but was never officially completed. Not sure...

Apparently the there is a global pandemic on the go right now. That beach is pretty empty these days.ghazanhaider wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 12:47 pm How irresponsible do you have to be to land on such a busy beach instead of ditching in the water.

They hit a pole and if that's the only damage then good for them.
I think it's an Archer, not a Warrior...i only say that because it says Archer II on the cowling.

Geez, I wish people would post the dates of the crash in their subject lines when they post. I saw this today and my heart skipped a beat thinking it just happened.JL wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 10:04 pm TSB report: https://www.tsb.gc.ca/eng/rapports-repo ... W0046.html

Re: VIDEO: V Tail Bonanza flips over on landing
Looks like they missed the runway and touched down in the grass. As they crossed the taxi way it looks as tho the front wheel/strut collapses and then they go to the left where they strut hits the runway edge and a$$ over head it goes. I just watched it in super slow motion. The nose gear was never...
