Re: Air Tindi Flight Missing
I had the pleasure of knowing both of the pilots. Both extrodinary men, amazing and SAFE pilots. I know Will would have never descended below a minimum altitude unless he was in VMC so I’m confident that it would not have been CFIT. Neither of the guys were cowboys. Its tough right now not knowing ...

Re: Air Tindi Flight Missing
I always set field elevation as well. The problem is, it isn’t really on profile with a normal decent, they crashed outside of the 25 mile safe, and visibility was a mile and ceiling was 1600 feet. They were right on approach ban—not exactly the conditions any informed crew goes looking to find an ...

Re: Air Tindi Flight Missing
You'd be quite the cowboy taking a king air 200 into snowy Whati's short strip for RWY28 with a brisk east wind. Likely north of track due to setting up for RWY10. Hard to believe you fly a 200 and survive being a cowboy like you are. I'm curious what they were doing north of track. The flight is ba...

Re: hiring factors (older entry level pilots)
There hasn’t been a better time to get into Aviation! Just scroll through the Job Ads. I’ve been flying since 1995... I’ve never seen a demand for pilots like there is today. Go get your private and commercial as quick as you can. Go at it full time if you can afford to. No demand from 705 operator...

Re: Skylease Cargo 747 Runway Overrun YHZ Nov 7, 2018
Weather was VFR. ATC vectors for visual 23 or 32 would have be more wise. Anybody have the wx for the accident time? If you google metar history there’s a website that stores every report. From a speci minutes after the accident: 230-11-g18. 8sm. -RA BR. SCT005. BKN012. 13/13 Maybe this is why no o...

Re: Skylease Cargo 747 Runway Overrun YHZ Nov 7, 2018
YHZ is working on the Overrun area at the threshold of 23, hence displaced threshold btw threshold 23 and just past taxiway E. Generally a pain in the ass without the CAT2 on our only RWY. Therefore the only non GPS approach is the ILS14; every other approach, b/c of this construction, is a GPS app...

Whoever is spokesperson for airport authority should be fired.
Aircraft went off end of RW14 which is near the golf course, not RW32 that the airport spokesperson said.
How can you get a job as spokesperson with little knowledge.

Re: Fatigue is finally making the news
But regulations already say if we are not fit for duty, Fatigue included, we do not accept the assignment.
Nothings going to change unless employees start using regulations already in place.
Why did the AC crew continue to SFO if fatigued ? Could have stopped enroute and rested.

Pool email in June. Still waiting. Still dying. If they're interviewing new candidates for new year's gs i would assume all pilots in the pool will be placed for nov/dec gs yes? hang in there man. If the GGN interviewer asks to see your CPL, I assume you'll walk out of the interview. I can't get interview at Georgian yet. Ahmed was all nice to me at first then turned very impolite. How could anyone possibly be impolite when they're face to face with a mythical unicorn? You must be breathtaki...

With the low FO salary and the pilots working 3 days a week are you allowed to work any where else a couple days a week to make ends meet or do they not allow this? thanks Also I hear they do 3 weeks day flying and 3 week rotation night flying. Are the days minimum 12 hours away starting at 6 am an...

Re: New low in pilot shortage?
Correct, my booklet shows ATPL, unless they would want to see an old license which shows CPL. You're completely missing the point, whether intentionally or through denseness I don't know. If someone asked you to show your CPL, would you show your ATPL or walk out? If someone asked to show proof of ...
