Re: Sunwing hiring update
Is there an updated pay scale? The latest I can find only goes up to 2019.

Re: Bases and equipment
YYZ Q is bad. There’s very little flying actually out of YYZ so most pairings have you heading east or west first

Re: DEC Westjet Swoop
For those saying that Jazz/Georgian/Sky set the precedent for DOH, that’s not necessarily the case here. All 3 of those airlines were ALPA whereas Sunwing is Unifor so not really the same argument.

Re: Sunwing Ratifies New Agreement
But the 900 MAG also means you'd most likely have to work 10% less, right? In theory, yes. But, we were going to have to work less due to the new flight time and duty limitations anyways. We'll be flying less, but probably away from home more (especially for those pilots who only do turns). We'll n...

Re: Jobs under 250 hours
I don’t think an IATRA is valid until you have 250 hours IIRC so in that case any job on a plane that requires one won’t be available to you if you have less than 250 hours

WestJet pay maths lesson 1. Gross pay (It looks like a reasonable number) less 20% WSP (WestJet Savings Program... the ESPP replacement) contribution plus companies 20% match (You have now put 40% of your gross pay in savings) less Income taxes (35% to 45%) less other deductions = Net pay of 20% to...

Re: #EncoreFlowMoraleLow
When mainline WJ starts hiring OTS is it a good place to go? Behind all current swoop and encore pilots for schedule/vacation/upgrade but don’t have to worry about steps or YOS for pay.

Not to lay blame on any of the crew but if it was so out of control why did they not turn around or divert somewhere enroute and let the cops deal with it?

Re: Airline crew commuting to Canada from USA questions.
I had 2 experiences recently: 1. Returning from mandatory annual simulator training. Had ArriveCan filled out as required indicating exemption as per the regulations, and returned using NEXUS. I also had a letter from my employer indicating the purpose of my trip, how long I'd been in the USA and a...

Hotwire is better than any crew rate. I got the crown plaza the other day for $60+tax, any hotel I called had crew rates of about $80-85+tax

Re: Fall Equipment Bid
In YYZ most of the D8 pilots are bidding the E75 since the bid only shows 17 Q4 CA spots. Word is a lot of senior RJ pilots are bidding the E75 too. Frozen pilots are …… frozen. Most pilots affected by type freeze are FO. D8 pilots are all free agents due reduction rights. I would expect once bid r...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
There are pros and cons to paying all pilots at a company the same (captains are payed more of course) regardless of which aircraft they fly (status pay). It sounds fair paying everyone the same (everyone is doing a similar job), but I don't think status pay is a good idea because of this: If pilot...
