Re: Adverse Reactions Poll

I took the first 2 vax doses, which made a lot of sense to me at the time on a risk / reward basis (I’ve had respiratory issues). Boosters, have made far less sense to me. I think there is a strong case (not a fan of flu shots either) that too many vaccines, and too many doses of antibiotics, aren’t...

They would rather not line up with a taxiway.

Lufthansa in SFO

I found this scenario interesting, SFO (seems a challenging place) was running only night visual approaches, Lufthansa 380 appears and their SOP’s won’t allow visuals.

Re: Bearskin cuts routes.

I was wondering the same. Anyone know more about their staffing levels? They say its demand, FWIW Put it this way let’s say you have 20 metro captains and you can make $xxxx per hour flying them on a perimeter route or you can make $xx per hour flying a lower yield bearskin route. Which route are y...

Maybe. Like bus service in these places. Can’t subsidize forever.

Re: Stop the unfair UP Express price hike for Employees

I pay my taxes, which fund the highway 401 maintenance and construction. I DONT drive on it. I don’t complain that I should be paying for 500 thousand people driving on that highway every day, why? Because at the end of the day, people need that highway to get places… I am one less car on that high...

I don’t drive, I don’t even think a lot of employees could afford to drive either so they take the UP.

Re: 777 Funded Flair Using Insurance Customers' Deposits

Yeah been hearing that from people like you for the last 5 years. There’s a response. Who will step up and fund Flairs operations when, not if, when, flying demand slows. Which it already has. I don’t know,,,maybe the same people that funded flair during Covid. Either way I shouldn’t be ...

Re: Stop the unfair UP Express price hike for Employees

For everyone complaining about subsidizing airport worker's trips to the airport,... Let's not forget that at nearly every airport there is a surcharge applied. Rental cars are often cheaper off-airport, taxies charge an airport pickup/dropoff surcharge and city busses also charge differently to go...

Re: Stop the unfair UP Express price hike for Employees

Alright, This is a complete waste of my time For someone who has to take the subway to union then the UP you're looking at over 10$/trip. At those prices people will decide to take the car 10/10 times even if it would have been convenient to take transit. Mine too. Why anyone would take the Subway ...

Re: Stop the unfair UP Express price hike for Employees

My take on public transit is that you want to maximize ridership capacity to 100%. At this point, it's already built and the fixed costs now are largely the same. The guy commuting on the TTC to Tim Hortons pays $156/month. If they worked at the Tim Hortons at the airport they now also need to pay ...
