Sundance, good info, I had no idea, I thought you were straight off the street commercial pilots. Sounds like you guys have a lot of reading prior to Cat exams, can't say I'd rather be in your shoes. The CF is pretty strict like that, I think you all have a good chance of getting back on with...

Sundance, question. Are you guys expected to be familiar with the B-GA-100 and 1 CAD Orders or does CATC operate under the CARS? I know the B-GA and CAD Ords governed ops at BHS and MES, but I'm unsure about PFT since the Slinkys are civilian aircraft being flown by TC licenced pilots. When we start...

CH124 ----- I'm told that the 206's were leased by Bombardier from Bell. I'm also told that they'll be bringing in 412's (Griffins) and the addition of at least one new KingAir. I could have been informed incorrectly. The 206's in Portage are the same ones that have been there for the past 20 years...

I agree with sd 10. I am also one of the Bombardier instructors who had notification of lay off. For you other people on this forum to start speculating is complete and utter bullshit. What do you know it all's on this forum know about this contract know that me or sd 10 don't. First of all the hel...

CH124 Driver The song is a remake of Steve Winwood's "call on me" It was redone by Eric Prydz here is a link to the video, but before warned this video is about as close to X-rated as you can get. With that said I wish to join this aerobic class...enjoy http://www.big-boys.com/articles/callonme.htm...

Crazy stuff. I have no problem with low flying, as long as it's properly pre-briefed. We do it all the time in the CF, in Moose Jaw you fly 240kt ground speed @ 500ft in the Harvard, the Hawks do their low level nav at 250ft at 420kts. Helicopter school we do nav at 250ft and operationally, we do it...

Short legs affect helo pilots. Everyone must be able to fly every aircraft, or at least have the body geometry to fit in them. Those must have been some short legs. So everyone can fit in the Hawk 200? Not necessarily, I'm 5'7" and my leg length was right on the lower limit. It depends on your geom...

I believe you can still join the forces as pilot WITHOUT a degree. You just need a college diploma, and a commercial licence. Should the forces decide at any point during your obligatory period that they would want you to finish your degree I think you'd have too. As when you join up you've got to ...

does that 144 include thor foreign pilots that go through as well or is it just the number of canadians? It includes the foreign pilots, but there's only a small number of them. In the year that I was there, there was 6 Danish guys and 6 Italians, the rest of the students were Cdn. I think the Hung...

Wouldn't waste my money...but that's just me. Spent enough time mucking about underwater on wrecks...at night...to know that bubbles rise. Seems everybody's got a gimmick these days. Now, for a scant thousand bucks, let me strap you into a rig and try and drown you? No thank-you. Bubbles rising is ...

From what I understand, 50 % through on aircrew selection is normal. So what's up with ppl with short legs? Years past you weren't accepted if your legs were too long to eject from a T Bird. Be patient, the Forces recruiting process is brutally slow. Congrats and good luck. Short legs affect helo p...
