Re: Interview Callback

If Air Georgian is still hiring (and I assume desperate as usual) why not apply there. Sounds like you’ll only have to endure their garbage for a short amount of time, begining your theoretical Jazz seniority sooner as heard provbably taking people ASAP and give yourself a shot at going to AC right ...

Re: Jazz or Sunwing ?

Comparing apples to oranges. Jazz is what it is, a regional airline. Sunwing isn’t that and more comparable to airlines/charter/cargo companies operating larger aircraft. The pay, schedule and many other acpects are completely different and not comparable. Just cause your tinder profile says Air Can...

Re: SIMAir

Who or what is SIMAir? I am seeing jobs for a whole 705 management team. Saab 340 and it seems Winnipeg. Rumour around is yet another start up by WestJet. Similar to swoop, except Winnipeg headquartered. Will be their Eastern Pasco and possibly a tool to strong arm negotiate lower costs with Pasco....

Re: Interview Callback

I actually haven't heard back after applying online. Sorry if my question was confusing. I meant how long did it take for them to contact you after you applied online? What’s your experience level? There’s a total time experience level they have set into their system, if you’re below that your resu...

The problem with Canadian aviation summed up perfectly in one sentence.

Re: North Wright Air

If it was soooo bad then why’d you stay there for 4 years?? Well for one they used to have a different type of bond. They used to deduct from every paycheque and put the amount (10,500$) into trust. You had to stay that long to get your money back, if you stayed 1 day less they kept it all. But you...

When did you work there? Recently or..? Mixturerich, I was just wondering if you working there during the almost 4 years I spent there or maybe not at all??? You’re missing my point. I’m saying it’s pretty similar conditions to any small operator but the progression is actually faster in terms of d...

Re: North Wright Air

I’ve heard North-Wright called a lot of different things, a good place never ever ever ever being one of them. You should have said things like “terrible pay, slave labour, asshole management, shotty maintenance, old worn out airplanes (1900’s excluded)”, the list goes on and on. You might be able ...

Re: North Wright Air

I’ve heard Northwright is a VERY good place to get started. Most outfits have a much longer wait on the ramp, and the opportunity to fly the 206/207 and get PIC time is gold. Get in there before they run out or AVGAS. Plus in my opinion, places like Medicine Hat, Moosonee, Yellowknife, Sioux Lookou...

Re: Regional airline loses 1.5-million passenger contract with Air Canada, but firms deny safety concerns a factor

The company said it does not expect the loss of this single contract to negatively impact its long-term business growth. “We are very well positioned in the marketplace, with a 25 year track record of superior safety, operational, and financial performance.” I have no words for any of this. Also no...

Re: Jazz Payscale Updated 2019

My first year pay as an FO is as follows. Gross $44,550 Per Diems $14,380 Total: $58,930 I only worked 5 WDO's (overtime days) the whole year. Per Diems are tax free cash. As you can tell the per diems add a big chunk to the low base pay. I posted this not for a debate but to show anyone interested...

All the Jazz FOs I know are doing one or more the following: - living with mom and dad - taking hand outs from the bank mom and dad - brings a suitcase full of food from home so they can bank per diems. - quit because they couldn't handle it. - living like college kids with a bunch of room mates - ...

Picking up 1 day of OT a month goes a long way for you guys! 129.98 X 1.5 (OT) X 4.5 (min day) = 877.16 1 a month will get you a greasy $10500 extra a year! No imagine if you did 2, or not min credits, etc etc. Popping in for an extra day of work a month is not hard, and you definitely cannot compl...

$38,400 while living in YVR or YYZ. Hahahahaha
Could almost afford a parking spot downtown, not enough to get a car to live in though. Maybe a tent off Kijiji.

Heck how do captains even survive as $76,800? Better be single, no debt and living in a dump.

Having the wealth sufficient enough to own a 50-60 Million dollar jet, that costs somewhere between 7000-10,000$ an hour to operate. While being willing to put your life in the hands of a pilot whose probably not overly experienced given the willingness to accept that salary.
I just don’t get it.

I'm just speaking on their take home pay. They do make more on their T4, I don't deny that. Lol what? You understand the difference between gross and net pay, right? WJ pilots dump 20% of their pay into their share program in leui of a pension... Into a stock currently on the down trend. They also ...

Re: 17 year TA?

Everyone was posting friend's pay stubs online last week. Take home every two weeks is just over $2k for a WJ Capt. I take home that as a Jazz Capt on my 40 credit 25th pay check And more usually on the 10th. Not an ot whore but I do one or two easy WDO a month. Ok excluding “someone’s pay stub (pe...
