Re: Do people go from Jazz to Sky.
I cannot believe you are complaining about the flying you do and knew you would do when you applied to Jazz and now you don't want to upgrade? Why is 2000 hours flying a classic then going captain on a Q400 enough... why that number? You should be confident and Jazz etc hires folks to eventually be...

Re: Do people go from Jazz to Sky.
I definitely agree mate.. i would also consider SW or TS there you will have real chances of going overseas. All the best. Yup. That's an option, but honestly, I'd like to stay in the "AC family" (if that's even a thing)... I like the travel benefits. (and still have the option to go to AC) I under...

Re: Pathetic Pearson Airport
Quick question: Considering all the delays at YYZ, why would they close a runway for some "marathon" fund raiser? (Not to bash charity, but that can be done elsewhere in Toronto). How does that impact operations? It's an annual event (5k run/walk, not a marathon), and it's part of Pearson's public ...

Re: ALPA card drive starts today!
Pilots think unions will be the savior of what burdens them.... fools. Look at ACPA, complete tools; so is any pilot union. All just an excuse for pilots wanting to get in on the management side of things. And the worst thing of a company management side of things is to have a pilot running the sho...

Re: Built your own camp in the Canadian North
That would be the stuff of nightmares. Stuck in the North by yourself? No thanks! But hey, I wouldn't mind going back to Europe. Let's switch places. You can come to Canada in my place; I'll give you my pilot license and I'll go to Sweden and do whatever you do there... play FSX? Sure as hell won't ...

Re: Do people go from Jazz to Sky.
I am seriously considering moving from Jazz to Sky Regional and I've had a few of my co-workers express the same intention, due to being locked on the same aircraft for 4 years. The way I see it, if I ever get PFOd from AC, which is a big chance, considering the competition (a lot of capable men an...

Re: much needed advice for newly graduated student pilot
Oh man, I feel for you. I'm not sure what happened between you two, but the most important thing in this whole situation is your little girl. Your flying career, her career, etc does not matter. You have to come together as adults and do the right thing for that child. I say that as a husband and a ...

Re: Northern Operators threatened by 'absurd' Transport Canada rules
LOL: Medevac operations could be impacted by the new rules, too, critics say. I bloody well hope so! While the pilot shortage might put less experience in 705 ops, and therefore maybe increase risk / small incidents there, it certainly will drastically increase safety for 703 operators. I've talked...

Re: Jazz Aug 31 Equipment BID
The results of the equipment bid has been delayed to next week for a matter recalculation.. Now, I'm a bit confuse on where this whole thing is trending. In one hand, the company is telling us that we will hire 400 pilots next year. On the other hand, the hiring at AC from the FPML is quite low rig...

Re: Jazz Hatters
I tend to get defensive when people call me "butt-hurt", especially after putting my time in and paying my dues. Did I know about Jazz and what it was offering? Yes. I knew the pay, I knew schedule, I knew the routes, I knew the aircraft. What I didn't know is about the 4 year freeze and the fact t...

Re: A320 Type Rating- Looking for Training Partner
I would never pay for a Type Rating, but then again, this young man can do whatever he wants. We can't judge him. I love those guys that look down from the top and say "Hey, you're ruining it for the rest of us"... We've all played a small or big part in "ruining it" for everyone, including ourselves.

IamnoMaverick: That's pretty arrogant of you sir. First of all, it was a CAPTAIN that said that, not an F/O. Most First Officers I know at Jazz love the uniform and finally "looking the part". Hi all, first post here! First of all, I understand that I need to HAVE THE LEGAL RIGHT TO WORK AND LIVE IN CANADA! Hahahaha! Thats obvious (or not) and I`m not planning a hole change in my life just to stay illegal somewhere. So my plan is to study at a College (like Seneca @Toronto) a 2yrs aviati...
