Re: COPA for Kids pilots now require police check
The concept that children are going to allow themselves to be interfered with within 20 minutes of meeting a volunteer pilot is absurd. I was looking for the most ignorant post on avcanada I could find today. And vioala. Thanks. If you don’t want the check or are a pedo and can’t get it than don’t ...

Re: C-Series?
Those who want to take a jet to LA can take a 25 minute train ride from downtown. There will never be jets from the island. Canada and especially Toronto are way too anti-business for that.
If there is a business case for basing out of Ottawa I hope it works out for them.

Porter will operate the A220 when they fly them out of Pearson. Anything else is a pipe dream.

Re: Thoughts on ACPA Joining ALPA...
Not my report. It was done by two independent outside experts. If you don't want to believe it fine, but be prepared for repeated results. The 10 year deal was also approved by a strong majority of pilots. I was not a fan either but it went through. In 2009, AC was broke and had only occasionally p...

Re: Which Canadian Airlines expect their Flight Deck Crew to also be Cabin Groomers?
That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! Have you ever painted your house yourself? Changed your winter tires? Mowed your lawn? How about fill up your own gas tank? Well you shouldn't, you are taking jobs away from people. You should pay everyone to do everything for you. Certainly hope yo...

Re: Thoughts on ACPA Joining ALPA...
shades of 2012. Not a single pilot at Rouge is forced to be there. Not one. I don't believe that. If everyone wanted out, there aren't enough "mainline" jobs. What about a new hire who picked last and got the 319? Or do they not count because they should be "happy to even have a job at AC." Believe...

If course I'm excluding the LCC! The deal sold to us last year wasn't growth. It was Mainline growth... We "agreed" growth above 50 LCC fins in exchange for proportional Mainline growth, yet all we're seeing is LCC growth and Mainline reductions because it was a deception. "Highest paid" Because th...

Yes. That quote is completely ignorant of how airline ops work. But who cares is right. It doesn't matter what he thinks.172_Captain wrote: ↑Thu Aug 30, 2018 12:22 pm Seniority is BS. There’ll always be people ahead and behind you. Who cares.

That would be a disgusting turn of events. I don’t think even the AC group is cow towed enough for that to happen.

Re: 436 Vacancies Until Summer 2019
Problem at the LCC is many won't wait for draft and go to work for 1.5x pay only, scooping your chance at 2.5x... and the awards aren't very transparent. OT at mainline pays the 1.5x if you are working a full block, + another .5 if you're over 85 hours, so mostly at double time... FWIW. I don't see...

Probably no different than it’s been since the days of People Express and Southwest Airlines. Your options are the same. Pay more money and move up in surroundings. But. Often the biggest douchebags sit in First Class. Not sure how many times you've sat in J but that statement is completely false i...

Re: WestJet pilots to fly Swoop aircraft
How so? Nobody gave you the right to decide who flies jump - there's a policy in place that decides who and in what order. There is a policy. Then there is the Captains decision. Which is final, regardless of policy. The Captains decision isn't to hand pick who flies jump. It's follow the policy or...
