The aircraft was levelled off at 10 000 feet ASL with the cabin altitude reading 0 feet of pressure.
This part of the report is incorrect - the cabin altitude would have been 10000' and the differential pressure would have been zero.

Re: New Airline

I've seen the 'ethnic' business model tried over and over again.

As far as I know it has a 100% failure rate.

A good way for wealthy business men to lose a lot of money imho.

Entering the US as crew member with Canadian passport

My current situation is as follows:- I am working on my UK passport and have a B1/B2 and C1/D Visa for the US. These are about to expire. After submitting my application to renew them I have been told no appointments are currently available at the US consulate and there is no indication when this wi...

Re: Asiana A321 cabin door opened in flight

I find this one interesting because up until I saw the video of these poor schmucks getting 150 kts of wind in the face, I was under the impression that it was impossible to open an emergency exit in flight due to either differential pressure, or a safety latch of some kind, (or both). Maybe just n...

Re: Wide body with no former jet-time

Regarding AF 447 It’s not correct to look at this as an hours/experience issue imho. This is training issue - they mismanaged a failure, resulting in the aircraft stalling. If they had done absolutely nothing they would have been fine. Northwest had the same thing happen crossing the Pacific. They f...

Re: Wide body with no former jet-time

I've noticed during sim training that fully developed stalls are never (rarely?) trained. I can understand during actual flight training that you want to recover at the first signs of a stall, but if you're in a simulator, why not train/simulate full/deep stalls, Even if recovery is unlikely or har...

Re: Neurodiverse pilots groups

Not sure if very many autistic people can make it through training. Piloting/Aviation attracts people with a narcissistic personality disorder - seen plenty of examples over the years. Some really extreme personalities - to the point I refused a fleet transfer at one company. Easy to spot once you k...

Re: Wide body with no former jet-time

Any chance that the dash guys who would be happy to have a system that allows two new dash guys up front while the captain sleeps would have a temporary different opinion if they were on a zed fare to Australia? Disclaimer:- Don't work at Air Canada. At my company all Captains are right seat qualif...

I heard that unless you have former jet experience, you cant be considered for a WB position on initial hire. Just wondering if anybody knows whether or not this rumour is true? This would seem abit silly, certaintly for those coming from Jazz. Disclaimer:- I don't work at Air Canada. This can be d...

An interesting look at this crash using the report issued by Australian ATSB. https://www.atsb.gov.au/publications/investigation_reports/2023/report/ao-2023-008 - 1800 ft/min rate of descent 100 feet off the ground with low airspeed and idle thrust isn't going to end well! https://youtu.be/aFH-ycXG0...

Don’t worry pilots your time is coming to an end … Why do you feel that 200k per year is being underpaid ? What value have you added to the economy, country and to people’s lives to earn a wage increase ? The pandemic was very positive to show that aviation is not needed. Want to see your relatives...

Re: Canadians working abroad (first job)

I remember a while back (20 years ago or so 🤔) some Caribbean operators hiring Canadians right out of school with Canadian CPL to fly down there. Is that still a thing? Are there any operators you would recommend for a low timer trying to score some good time to build up his/ her logbook to come ba...

Airlines are claiming that there’s a volcanic ash issue in YVR up to northern bc. +1 for "Fate is the Hunter".

Should be mandatory reading for any Pilot imho. Details the start of Commercial Aviation in the US.

Don't worry about it.

Keep building up your hours.

Just reapply when you are allowed to and apply to other companies.

I've failed interviews at multiple companies - I've never let it stop me.

Looking back on things I figure some of the companies that turned me down actually did me a favour!

Re: Airline radio procedures

Good day all, I recently accepted a job with an airline. All my flying to this point has been in the bush with some ifr experience. I'm concerned about how the radio procedures work in the airline world. Mostly concerned with the sequence on the ground. Starting at the gate. I've been told there's ...

Thinking about at trip on your airline next year for a lifeline occasion to a place that is different as I see it, not to far yet far enough. To the WB pilots who frequent the above noted locations, what would be your choice if those were vacy destinations. You may want to look at Portugal - also a...
