Re: Circling Procedures
Funny thing about Pang, if you follow the published missed you'll bump into something. Those minimums are connected to the approach you are doing, not the runway.

Re: Mis-set Cruise power
There is a system in the Q400 engine that will force the prop into an overspeed if it starts as an underspeed situation. It's been quite awhile since I've flown the Q but I believe that when you get that PEC light that's what's happening.

Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
Couple things: 1. Applicants are scored on a number of factors and their files placed in order by score. Groundschool offers draw from the top. 2. I was speaking to an interviewer recently and they have not been impressed with some of the attitudes they get from Jazz candidates. You can feel howeve...

Re: Calgary Flight Training
More questions: What class instructor would you get? Class 1 or 2 is ideal. Avoid Class 4. Can you stay with the same instructor for most of the training? Switching instructors is a pain and usually ends up costing you more. Details on airplanes and simulators they have. What kind. How many. Age. A...

Re: New hire bids
Thanks! Any idea how long on average I can expect to be based out east? With all the movement to AC I'd imagine you should get YVR before you're done training Nah, that’s what everyone said but I waited 6 months from first day of ground school to hold YVR on the RJ. All my classmates that chose the...

Re: New hire bids
If my goal is to be based back in YVR as fast as possible is there any difference between bidding RJ or Q4? This week, I’d say the RJ…but as soon as you pick the RJ I’m sure the Q will pick back up again.. Thanks! Any idea how long on average I can expect to be based out east? With all the movement...

There's a negotiation happening, they are "releasing" 40 pilots a month to AC.Aspiredtofly wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 6:24 pm What's the situation and the current state at jazz right now. Are they negotiating something, what's the current flow rate to the big red every month

Re: Instructors: Stop telling your students they need to "go instructing"...
I've been in this industry a while and I've had my fair share of struggles, trying to climb the ladder of this industry. A few days ago, on a deadhead flight back to my home base, I met a young man that sat beside me. I was in uniform, a little tired and just wanted to go home so I can finally get ...

What's life at Rouge like these days? I thought it was kind of the golden egg for commuters at one point?

Re: New hire bids
Sorry if this is a little off the current topic. But does anyone on here know how long I will be waiting to hear back whether or not I passed my sim eval? I had it on august 24th and they said they would let me know in a couple weeks if I passed or not, but they still haven’t said yes or no. A coup...

Re: How backed up is hiring???
For anyone's information, I was just told by email that I had successfully completed all steps of the application process and I should "hear back from them shortly". A few weeks go by and nothing so I follow up on my status, and the lady sends me an email that says: application status: Active (in p...

I know of an FA who was hired to the flight line so my guess is that it's possibleNewby76656 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 4:28 pm I have a friend who started working for them doing 2 weeks on 2 weeks off in the north as an ops agent and he told me that they hire from the inside. Your sexism is showing. Thrilled to welcome you to the team, you sound like a great person.HappySkies777 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 8:51 pm The new hire next to me had 750 hrs mostly on a PC-12. Re: DEC Posting
Will be interesting to see how this all plays out with DEC. There are several FOs from previous groundschools that have Q400 and RJ Captain on their standing bid and they haven't been processed yet, while these new DEC are getting paid Captain salary from day 1. Shouldn't this result in bypass pay ...

It has always been 60% at Jazz, that hasn't changed.music.is.the.answer wrote: ↑Sat Jul 23, 2022 4:26 am
Anyone who debates this is stupid. Trust me. If AC is your goal, go to Flair, not Jazz. Air Canada loves taking guys from the competition. They’ve also reassessed the flow through and it’s down to 60% now at Jazz.

They hired a flight instructor with no other experience to this position..asking for trouble. Teaching IFR is completely different than flying in the real world.
