Re: Swoop alum

Perspective. I get the angst, it’s a natural emotion. To be objective however, wasn’t Swoop created to “close the back door” against the likes of the very company “tbaylx” is the Chief Pilot of? As a group, you’ve embarrassingly proven yourselves utterly powerless and impotent to thwart any commerci...

Re: Westjet Delta JV

Spaceship, spinaxis may be right. The MOA scope as agreed to by the pilots to assist during this downturn, appears on the surface to be interpreted differently by the WestJet group.

Re: New CEO

Through the mill that they’ve recalled almost half of their laid off pilots. If so, very happy for them. Some positive news finally in this otherwise pain of an industry.

Re: Stand-By Travel while Furloughed

As a goodwill gesture, between YYZ YYC YEG and YVR you can use the reciprocal J/S on Flair.

RAIC.... OR....Pilot’s licence and a copy of the furlough/lay off notification...... and other airline ID (if available).

Personal travel only and not for deadheading or for any other business purposes.

Re: One List

The only practical option is for WJ to close Encore and place the Q400's into the WJ fleet.
+1. And may very well happen.

+ve news nevertheless is AC will be using the Emergency Wage Subsidy Program to rehire all laid off staff. I’d say that’s a win.

Re: Approach ban

Bingo!

Weird but true. LPV is a non precision IAP, so 50% of advisory vis, whereas an ILS is a precision approach and limited by %75 of advisory vis.
Unless the runway has centreline lighting, then 50% advisory vis as well for the ILS. But you’re right, without it, it’s 75%.
