Re: Airport lounges
Will be a sad day if they start letting flight crew in again. Every time i went in it was never the food. The crews I over heard would do nothing but bitch about how bad they had it and act like spoiled little children. Trust me when i say the conversations certainly did not make flight crew look pr...

Re: Leaving with a bond?
You guys are all missing what Cessnaguy66 said. He wants to go to a company and commit to the terms of employment knowing he will not stay the term. This is exactly why bonds are in place. I will tell you what you want to hear. However as soon as i get my PPC and hours i am gone. At minimum PPC shou...

Re: Leaving with a bond?
At minimum paying the pro rate on the Bond should be done. Unfortunatlye what most people don't understand is the bond is the cheap part of what the companies put into you. There is a lot of time spent showing you the ropes that doesn't get billed. Let alone the image to the aircraft while you learn...

Re: "Trip from hell".
Am I the only one that has had to get out my credit card, go to a hotel and order pizza because my return flight was cancelled due to weather riding with Air Canada? There was no pity from the carrier. "Sorry, flight's cancelled due to weather. Not our fault." Next day everything was unsure, so I g...

Re: Legal question!
You answered your own question when you said "commercially registered airplane". No. I have to disagree. I believe you can. The registration has nothing to do with category of pilot unless you are performing revenue flights. This is like saying you cannot fly an aircraft until it is registered to y...

Re: Buffalo DC-3 Hay River
As far as I am concerned the TSB has really flubbed this up, and I would bet they had a rookie investigator involved. Is this what our tax dollars are paying for? Not only is the final report unclear without interpretation, the investigation itself seemingly has missed the single most important iss...

Shortage of Military pilots
Does anyone else smell something bad with this. Reminds me of a few years back when Flying Aces was started by Discovery air and ran by a bunch of ex airforce pilots to run decoy planes for the CF18's to chase. They were able to under bid the company that had the contract for years. I am sure they h...

Re: Gas guzzling trudeau plane
There is just something wrong with preaching Green and then using 2 planes and saying its OK cause I paid Carbon Tax. What exactly will Carbon Tax do for the environment? Does Trudeau have a direct link to God were if you pay God will take that amount of Carbon out of the air. No what he does is for...

Re: Air Tindi Flight Missing
Amazes how people think this would be such an easy situation that could have been prevented with a turn bank indictor and a altimeter. For anyone that has flown in a situation were you can barely see your wing tip it isn't that easy. Agreed, you also need an airspeed indicator as well as a T&B and ...

Re: Twin otter on the ice
cause the Canadian Military knows more about twin otters then Borek, right AuxBatOn? The military can accept some risks that a civilian operators wouldn’t be allowed or wouldn’t want to accept to accomplish a task. Our risk management processes from an airworthiness point of view are very different...

Re: Dash 8 Down
Wasn't meaning it as a shot. I have a hard time believing both crew would be willing to fly this way. Maybe one was locked out of the cockpit. Or was subdued by the other.

Re: Twin otter on the ice
I have seen pictures of station 60 were the nose is just about ripped off. Borek our Rocky Mountain air could have probably had it patched and ferried in 2 weeks with 3 our 4 guys. by WileyCoyote » Fri Mar 29, 2019 9:51 am From my experience, I think we would be better served by contracting this ser...

Re: Canadian/First Air Merger
Personally I say let them merger. Air Canada (Jazz) tried the Iqaluit route a couple years ago it didn’t last long. Trust me if someone comes in with a cheaper rate the passengers will change just like they did in Yellowknife. Yellowknife had the best of service before Air Canada and West Jet showed...

Re: Twin otter on the ice
I don't know any experienced Twin Otter operators that have abandoned our hired a heavy lift helicopter because of a station 60. Usually within 2 weeks its patched up enough to ferry it out. I hate to say it but this is typical Military not having the experience to operate these aircraft. Not saying...
