Re: job hunt.....

no those instructors just don't have to have rediculous student loads like 10-14 (yeah i've had that many) and more manageable ones like 4-8 (preferably few enough to be able to fly them once a day if you can't fit them all in in one day its too many for the students sake) my perfect number is 5-6 ...

Re: job hunt.....

Sorry, but could you maybe elaborate on what that would be a solution to? I don't fully understand what that would solve. It would solve the problem of oversupply. There's just way too many cpl's flooding the market. There's no barriers to getting the license other than coming up with 50 to 60G. If...

Re: job hunt.....

My solution is a cap on the number of CPL's dished out each year. The flight schools would scream bloody murder but we'd all end up so much better off (including the instructors once they found jobs paying them what they are worth). In my fantasy world I'd go so far as to put a freeze on licensing ...

Re: Seair Seaplanes?

Overall, it's a good company to work for. -Aircraft are top notch and very well maintained. -All of the staff are friendly. -Pay is average for the Coast. -Very long work days in the summer (understaffed, in my opinion.) -As of recent, they seem to be hiring pilots with less expirience than they hav...

Re: WTF (Wheres The Flying)

You're right.. Right now would be a good time to be starting flight training!! Fuel costs have come down, instructors will be stickin around a bit longer and you'll be done in a year or two and ready to catch the next upswing! But if you're just finishing training right now, be ready to ride it out...

Re: Float Rating or bush course?

Mr North, I'm not saying your wrong, but in my opinion, that is just as bad as paying for a PPC. Think about how much 50 hours on floats is going to cost you. 50 hour bush courses are a scam. You'll end up getting stuck with some 300 hour instructor sitting beside you who knows f-all about the bush....

Re: Float Rating or bush course?

hours = experience to many operators therefore the more hours the more experience if you can afford it then go ahead as you will hopefully learn more in 50 hours which is the most important factor anyway In my opinion, there is no difference between a 200 hour pilot and a 250 hour pilot. If I were ...
