AC's Pension Program

Anyone have/willing to share the details on AC's pilot pension?

Are the days of a solid pension in the airlines long gone?

Re: Low-timer Road Trip

Hey Chelo, definitely stop by YQT on your way to Winnipeg. There are lots of 703/704 operators and most of them do a lot of flying. For example, Wasaya, Air Bravo, Thunder just name a few. The problem your going to run into is that with the total time you have, your likely going to have to work the ...

Re: PC12 vs Multi time for 704-705 Operators

I couldn't agree more with importance of a positive two crew environment and mentoring for FO's not only on how to operate the aircraft and know the SOP's, but also pilot decision making, leadership and all the qualities that will make a good captain. My first FO position was with Wasaya Airways on ...

Re: PC12 vs Multi time for 704-705 Operators

I agree that the PC12 is an anomaly in that it really is the only single capable of operating much like a multi turbine. Multi time doesn't always mean you have two crew experience or high performance time. I know a lot of people who have made the jump from single piston twin to 704, 705 (and that's...

PC12 vs Multi time for 704-705 Operators

Our industry, specifically 704, 705 operators, put too much emphasis on multi time requirements when looking for new hires. Is 500 hrs on a Navajo or any light twin piston more valuable and more applicable than time on a PC12? I don't think so at all. Do operators really think that because you fly a...

Re: PC12 or King Air 90?

I think that airlines are now starting to recognize that PC12 time is valuable experience and just as applicable as time on a king air or B1900. The PC12 is a turbine machine, pressurized, flies in the flight levels and an EFIS equipped airplane. Too much emphasis is put on twin time when often time...

Re: WestJet Mainline/Encore Hiring pool

It never ceases to amaze me how bitter and negative some pilots are. Comparing ISIS and brainwashing to Westjet culture?!? Give me F**King break HD777. Some people actually want to use this forum for what it's intended for, sharing useful information and helping fellow pilots. Not tyrannical rants f...

Re: TSB Report on UPS A300 Crash. Good read.

First off, have some respect CpnCrunch. ALL pilots, regardless of experience or lack thereof, make mistakes. Its unfair and arrogant to 'couch fly' and criticize this crew for what they did or didn't do! You weren't there! Secondly, I think one of the biggest factors with this crash was fatigue. I u...

Re: Air Bravo Hirng/Location Update?

Worked there. Horrible culture, planes are in terrible shape and the hours are exhausting. 14 hr days with min rest most cases. You will burn out quickly there. They do fly a lot though, so if your willing to be exhausted and misreable it might be a good fit!
