Re: Impressions on Moncton Flight College?

I was a student, then an instructor and have moved on... the majority of instructors I knew 2+years ago, who had any multi time, are now FO's/Capt's, of the following companies, PAL, Air Georgian, Skylink, EVAS, Thunder, Wasaya, Jazz, Porter. Former students of mine left at the 200hr mark and are on...

i currently commute out of yqm, but I DO NOT work for an airline. Im fortunate that my company has standby deals with jazz and porter. ive been commuting for the last 2 years, and my thoughts are: - its so cheap - i find it stressful, on a good day i get on borh flights on the first try, on bad days...

The Ornge contract requires 500MPIC to be capt.
Last 7 guys/gals had at least 400MPIC from instructing, made up the rest through supervised PIC... flying 5+hrs a day, and it doesnt take long to get to the 500 mark

Re: New 'GNSS' NavCan/CAP's **Day 1

It was kind of funny yesterday, I work for an air ambulance out fit and we spent the whole day btw YHM-YTZ and YOW, and all the various operators and controllers were a bit confused with waypoint idents and phonetics. We usually just file direct, and when copying down the clearance its a crapshoot, ...

Re: Aussie to Canada??

I trained a Canadian, who got his PPL in Canada, but then went to Oz, and finished his CPL, got his MIFR, instructor rating and then 1200 odd hours in Oz. On his return, he had to do his Commerical conversion, (written and flight test). He had to to do his IFR group 1 rating (written and flt test). ...

sounds like you know what you want. so go for it. there is no set path to get to a Jazz/WJ/AC... you may win the life lottery and get that coveted Seneca entry... but you may not. so whats your backup plan? Fortunately or unfortunately, however you look at it, the people Ive personally taught or met...

Re: Finishing school, now what do I do?

So Im kinda curious what does your Dad say now? Your path is exactly what I went through. I finished a liberal arts degree, and thought, "what next?" difference was, I did not have any family in the biz. I went to a flight college, did their "integrated program," finished in 11mos, got my instructor...

DOC +1 it may be a conflict of interest as a flight instructor, but even now i realize you have to instill in students to enjoy the ride . even fellow instructors are chomping to get MPIC time, cause its going to get them to that coveted turbine job. i had this discussion with a buddy today, would y...

Its been my experience yelling, i think, will not help the situation at all, rather, passive aggression seems to work better  just think about when your mom, teacher, friend, idiot who sits across from you, instructor etc. yells at YOU, and what do you do, give up. however, to answer the questi...
