Re: Pilots still dying/getting ill.
JFC, the first story you quoted is about a guy who had a headache - a common, and known, side effect of any vaccine. All of the other stories are establishing causation from correlation, FFS. The British airways pilots who died suddenly?! IIRC, one of those guys was killed mountain biking, FFS As fo...

iYehia, there are lots of plaes that fit the bill for what you are asking. two places that i am familiar with are the Victoria Flying Club http://flyvfc.com although the winter weather can be a little dodgy in terms of rain/cloud. Re: AIRLINES: We need you now to work..for Free.
Sounds like the guys and gals from the c suite should be working the gates. There was an interesting observation in the comments thread to that story: "Sims reportedly took a 50% pay cut, so he still made $1.7 million. When Chrysler was in trouble about 1980, Mr. Iacocca worked for $ 1. One guy cho...

Re: Do people still drive cross country to drop off resume's?
I've heard plenty of stories about how young pilots would drive across the country to drop off resume's in search of their first job, or during times of trouble where jobs are hard to come by. Is this something that's still done? Would love to hear some success and unsuccessful stories to learn the...

Re: Afganistan evacuation take off
And yet, for the billions sent there, and thousands of western lives (not to mention the Afghani casualties) profoundly affected, we couldn't hold on to Kabul for another 6 months, and ensure an escape for the hundreds of Afghan citizens who helped the western powers along the way? Farken politician...

"Canada meets the requirements of 14 CFR 121.436(a)(3) (1000 hrs SIC at Part 121)" Correct, few will meet that. As such, by advertising and receiving no applicants, they can satisfy the Canadian requirements to hire "foreign workers" (Americans) for the positions; as long as they too meet the requi...

Re: Get Ready Airline Workers to be Forcibly Vaccinated
IANAL, but if the GoC wants to force the issue, then I think the 'notwithstanding' clause takes care of the Charter. Another side of it is while it might be against the Charter, it would be a sh!t-ton of money in legal fees, not to mention the time involved in taking the case all of the way to the S...

Probably cheaper nowadays with metal ones, too!
IIRC, I took the passenger door off, the pax seat out, and the rear seats out of a 185, and an 8'er would just fit in. Couple of brownline clips, and a piece or two of rope/herc strap, and you're good to go!

BC relaxed some travel restrictions yesterday: We are finally allowed to travel between health regions again. A short time after the announcement, BC Ferries' reservations website crashed because of volume. I wouldn't expect airlines to be any different once international or inter-provincial travel ...

Re: The elusive first job
Yes I feel very fortunate to be where I am, and I love my flight school. My end goal is AC so my plan is to get into Jazz. I know I need the multi time so I would be very happy to go to canwest, pasco, perimeter, central mountain air, wasaya ect. I'm not too picky, but I wouldn't like getting stuck...
