Re: New hire bids

What a load of nonesense! You mean that is all you could find. We are about to lose 40 pilots in the next month, and you are claiming we only wanted to hire 16. Just like Colin saying in the earnings call Jazz has no trouble hiring "qualified" candidates. Apprently that means anyone with a CPL, bec...

Re: Negotiations

Jazz needs to take both CA and FO rates and just drop the year 1-5 numbers. Old year 6 = new year 1. That leaves a 7 year FO scale and a 12 year CA scale. Even better would be to take the 2025 rates for the purpose of this ‘adjustment’ and make it effective in 2023 (now). Even this will barely be c...

Re: Sky regional 2.0

Not here to defend anyone but how can you know they've picked up OT since FLICA schedule view has been disabled? Wondering why it got disabled... “Privacy concerns”. Aka: you could see who was doing all the overtime. Some of the MEC were observed doing insane amounts of overtime. I remember one on ...

Re: Negotiations

I wouldn't be surprised if jazz sees huge movement especially with a lot of the YYC guys. Guys tired of temp basing and pay cut is almost negligible in the short run. Not even that much of a paycut. From the roadshow the take home for a year 1 fo is basically the same take home as a year 5 jazz cap...

Re: Sky regional 2.0

Well it looks like the YYZ MEC CA rep took overtime for tomorrow to help keep the operation going so I don’t see much hope for getting any raises at this place. Not here to defend anyone but how can you know they've picked up OT since FLICA schedule view has been disabled? Re: Negotiations

Out of curiosity, are there any year 1 FO’s on here who would feel comfortable sharing their average net take home pay? What about per diems for a 4 day pairing as well? I’m curious what’s left after the reportedly insane deductions. Of course ! $1050 bi weekly take home pay. per diems depends on w...

Heard some YYC/YYZ/YUL spots on all equipments, not a full class of 20 though.
Experience level in the GS unknown.

Re: Sky regional 2.0

PAL has one thing going for them…..the much coveted YHZ base. I’m betting there are more than a few commuters taking a hard look at that. Which then kills Jazz more, along with everyone in YYC going to Westjet because no one has any faith in Jazz or AC actually dealing with the issues. All they do ...

Re: Bases and equipment

But all these routes being replaced with mainline equipment, means there are other routes not being flown, as per the memo from AC about YYC flying. They are losing too, they are just working hard to make it appear they aren't. So let it burn I say. AC will be fine. Jazz? Not so much. AC has lots o...

Re: Negotiations

They are Air Canada. Who cares about commuting policy when people are ALL willing to go to AC and pay for a crashpad with the hope of flying the A360?

Until there's an accident caused by fatigue nothing will change.

Re: YYC Bus surcharge

Great news everyone! Calgary City Council has voted 8 vs 3 in favour of the new transit fare schedule. This means that as of June 6th 2023 the Airport Boarding Pass surcharge will become a thing of the past, not only for airport workers, but for everyone! I would like to thank all of you for signin...

Thanks for replying, I'll go to whoever calls first or pays more lol Even if Jazz calls first, go to the one that is paying more or gives you a better future. I've seen people leaving before their first recurrent to Flair/Cargojet. Good luck! in your opinon, encore>jazz, i know the pay is way bette...

Re: How many people do you think fail sim eval?

The simeval is way easier that it was in 2018. Noting complicated. Just talk to you partner during the eval and take the decision together. You'll be fine. Oh and if you have also applied to Encore or another 705, feel free to leave Jazz, it's not worth the hassle especially when everybody is payin...

You think 60k is good T4 income?
I guess it depends. If the company pays everything and you only have the provincial and federal taxes to pay, that's not that bad.
