Re: Conventional Gear Situation

The best way to handle this in my personal opinion is to ask the insurance company to put you on their insurance with your uncle acting as your instructor for a predetermined number of hours which you would log as dual. After that you would be a named pilot on the insurance and you could if you wis...

Re: Choosing plane for PPL training

What PilotDar said about sums it up, the C150 is hard to beat and affordable.

During the years I owned a flight school I operated just about every light airplane available and I only liked a couple of other ones, the Tomahawk and the Grumman Cheetah.

But the C150 still was the moneymaker.

Re: Landing.

I see we have passed a thousand views in this thread and I am hoping we can get more instructors commenting on the importance of accurate height judgement during the latter stages of the landing process from the start of the level off height to surface contact. If you wish to demonstrate flying clos...

Re: Conventional Gear Situation

If I were hiring you to fly for me my question would be why not fly without your uncle with you so there would be no question of who was PIC. My concern would be wondering how many if any possible bad habits your uncle may have that would be transferred to you. Considering your uncle is not a profes...

Re: Conventional Gear Situation

The two most important issues are.

Are you insured to fly it solo.

Are you in the airplane journey log as PIC when you log it as PIC in your personal log book?

Generally, the dock rats are not respected by the pilots,
That is disgusting, just plain disgusting if I caught any pilot that was working for me doing that the pilot would be an unemployed pilot.

Re: Conventional Gear Situation

When I used to do tail wheel checkouts to plots who were already licensed to fly before we went flying they had to demonstrate they could safely control it with the tail in the air for the full length of the runway, both straight down the centre line and also S turning down the centre line. When the...

Re: Cameras in the cockpit...

Two pairs of inexperienced pilots failed to recognize the symptoms of a trim runway (Essentially). In one case after disabling it, they re-engaged it, because they couldn't manage without an autopilot on a vfr day. It is really frightening to find out that there are so many airlines killing their p...

The real question is will Boeing be fatally damaged by this disaster.
Sorry, I obviously failed to properly proof read my post.

Here is how I should have worded it.
