Re: Spacial Disorientation
Maybe i'm wrong, but perhaps he's referring to things like spins? I am early in my PPL and was demonstrated spins last week. The instructor was amazing and said "look straight ahead, and if you look out the side you're toast". So, just getting used to the spin and the spatial disorientation is one t...

Re: Help with the medical
hoops and hoops. i've spent the last month and a bit satisfying their requirements. As was said, as we age we accumulate medical things. I've just submitted all the tests and supplementary information the CME asked for. I should be good to go next week. The office in Toronto where the Aviation Medic...

Re: Stressed About the TC Exams and Flight Test
Having just finished my PPL Last month I feel I can speak from a bit of recent experience. Do not do the written too early. I did mine back in early May. My reasoning was I was fresh from learning everything from recently completed ground school. I was probably correct but not being ready for my fl...

Re: Training YSE and Mountain Flying vs. Langley
Just keep your options open, as you might find that the school you choose doesn't work for whatever reason (crappy customer service, poor scheduling, lack of knowledge, etc). And to be honest the mountain flying courses aren't terribly useful. Certainly do one to get the knowledge, but unless you m...

Training YSE and Mountain Flying vs. Langley
Thank you all for your input on the potential for my training to pick up at YSE after I relo to BC. An interesting opportunity has come up where I can get access to a plane and train a ton of hours in Langley, or I can simply train up at YSE. My goal, eventually, is to be able to fly in the mountain...

Trump's new immigration/visa ban
Just a quick curious question..
What is going to happen to pilots that work for airlines that have been flying into and out of the US on their visa/passport for years from banned countries.
This whole thing is going to cause big big problems.
Just saw that Iran is now banning US citizens.

Re: Cross Canada Air Rally
holy smokes!! I hope to have my PPL by then and I was just thinking of buying a plane and doing something like the west coast cross country in august. So, if anyone in the west is interested in doing this, I would share costs and flying time to do this, without hesitation! THIS LOOKS AWESOME. Proble...

This has been a brutal winter for getting wheels up for my PPL training in Toronto.
Hopefully, my relo to BC will be met with more flight time.

How many hours a week did you fly during your PPL training?
Im debating between a unique training opportunity at Langley or going to YSE for my training (PPL).
My question is how many hours a week and how did you structure your flight training during your PPL?

Re: Training at YSE questions
Hi Formula,
how many hours a week can you get, provided the weather is on your side.
Meaning, do you find it difficult to book a plane a few times a week?

Buy block time to get PPL?
Hey,
things seem to keep changing in my adventure out west.
So, as I search for a way to expedite my PPL in Vancouver, my question is:
Can I buy block time on a 172 and bring in an instructor into that plane?

Re: Training at YSE questions
A Few things. YES, fractional ownership in a 172 is of significant interest to me or in a piper. This could make the training much easier as well. If you hear of a fractional ownership somewhere, let me know. My schedule is somewhat flexible, although the next couple of months i will have to be flyi...

Hi all.. Looks like im relo to vangroovy. i started my ppl with an amazing instructor in the GTA. i have just 5 hours flight time. Re: rent a 172 in Vancouver to fly to SFO or LAS?
I am currently taking my PPL with the hope of getting it by end of may or June. Flying down the coast somewhere is something ive always wanted to do, and vegas is also a spot I'd loke to go in a GA aircraft. I am transferring from Ontario to the Vancouver (PFC) - (now considering YSE) in about a mon...
