Re: Logging cross country

Thinking more about TC. 25 nm is for flight plan. It's a very broad definition for sure but maybe that's good. It used to be for ppl cross country 3 airports one at least 25 nm away. Obviously that rule has changed

Re: Logging cross country

It's a bit ambiguous. I'm looking mostly for the qualifications for ifr test. Since it doesn't require landing then any time you navigate somewhere it is cross country. Again I'm referring to ifr test requirements.

Re: Logging cross country

Transport Canada does not provide a definition of "cross-country" flight in the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), however, a general consensus among pilots is that, in order to log "cross-country time" in a Pilot's Logbook, the pilot must have demonstrated some kind of navigational ability durin...

Logging cross country

As I understand TC definition of cross country is any flight from A to B or even A to A. Do you log it all as cross country or just regular then call it cc for flight test standards

Re: Multi ifr training hours

So B doesn't mean 5 hours training in multi ifr?

Multi ifr training hours

Transport says you need 20 hours dual instruction, subpart says must have 5 hours in type. Does that mean 5 hours dual training in multi engine, and the rest can be in single engine. Some schools quote 10 dual multi and 10 dual single instrument training. Others quote 20 dual multi instrument.

USA flight following question

In the US who do you contact atc for flight following if let's say you're flying out of non controlled field or your vfr and you call to get it. Canadian sectionals show the controlling agency such terminal or whatever. Us charts don't have that. If you're fling in for example southern California wo...

Re: Transferring through terminal zones

Yeah that was my main question if you are handed off or do you need to repeat request. Was just wondering for future flights. Just a side point Nanaimo radio asked me what my intentions were when I was leaving their airspace, when I called Vic terminal they already new my altitude and route requset

Re: Transferring through terminal zones

It was part of my croos country, that is the way it was planned, if I didn't get clearance then go back over then i would fly across Texada island. The reason for asking this question is also for future flying purposes, does one terminal know my requested route or do I have to repeat it to them.

Re: Transferring through terminal zones

Yeah that's exactly what I did. I guess I'm just wondering if the first controller gives you the ok than the second being yvr in this instance should know what you're doing. Obviously you need that altitude to be within gliding distance in a 172 or similar. I was told they won't let you across into ...

Re: Transferring through terminal zones

Going from Nanaimo I contacted Vic terminal and requested route and altitude over the strait , they cleared me and was then eventually transferred to Vancouver terminal, I identified and said altitude they then said say request. You can't always get straight across the strait especially if there is ...

Transferring through terminal zones

What does one zone such as yvr terminal know about my aircraft when I'm transferring from fx Victoria terminal. Crossing the strait I still had to say request to yvr even though I had to be approved ahead of time from Vic terminal for my altitude request. This is vfr

Medical sticker placement

Just got my new medical sticker. Do I skip to the second page and put it in the brackets or under the other one. I know instructions say brackets just want to make sure. Seems like a waste of space
