Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

Come on man, grow up and try to be a professional. Our licences are all issued by TC, not the airlines we work for. We’re all pilots who happen to work for different companies because of circumstances and/or opportunities in our lives. Assigning labels and living by them only hurts us all collective...

Think he’s talking about the first 4 years of “flat pay” vs formula pay after that, not status pay.

I’d say it depends on which company you’re flying said Metro for!

There are decent and some not so decent operators of the Metro out there.

Re: Westjet CYHZ

WestJet doesn’t use tablet data for takeoff or landing calculations. They utilize AeroData through ACARS. Regardless of whether it’s done through Boeing OPT on a tablet or through their method is irrelevant as both should provide the same numbers. Do keep in mind OPT will give you the 15% factored n...

Re: Useful things to do before the beginning of training

Do your medical exam now so you’ll know if there are any issues that may prevent you from holding a medical and hence a licence before wasting any time and money flight training.

Re: Westjet CYHZ

Why didn’t they use 05?

Runway 14 had a quartering gusting tailwind that looks like it may have exceeded 10 kts. No recent RSC either.

That was a call for MedLink to make.

Wouldn’t surprise me though if they didn’t subscribe to that service.

Looks like he goes from captain position to captain positions... Looks like Captainitus to me... And never went to any major with all this experience. It's okay, he will Swoop his way to WestJet... but not before being bypassed by ALL Encore pilots. I have a feeling he might change company soon. Wh...

Probably a minor point, but it’s spelled WestJet. Not West Jet or Westjet. If you’re handing in an updated CV at the interview I would make sure the company name is spelled correctly.

From quickly comparing salaries and conditions in NW Ontario they seem to be one of the better paying outfits with their salary+air time rate. Looks like a 1900 skipper starts at $64,287.44 + $27.90 / air time hour flown (ave. airtime 700 per ann.) so approx $83800 a year to start. I'd be prepared f...
