Re: Negotiations

Will do nothing to retain or attract pilots? Maybe for 10year+ on the payscale, but a new or young FO already with Jazz or Captain, this is a great improvement. Where is this "greener" pasture that everyone is talking about? I know Porter just came up with a payscale, and while not familiar with it...

Re: Why do pilots keep taking concessions?

Latest batch had a recently "upgraded" PC12 FO who was a FO on a Caravan AC's training program is not designed for PC12 FOs The experience levels are a serious concern but they seem happy recklessly destroying their network by not keeping up with the times with a serious industry pilot shortage Are...

Re: How many people do you think fail sim eval?

What is the sim eval? Is it part of the hiring process or part of the training on type after being hired? I haven't heard Encore/Westjet having a sim eval, is this a Jazz/AC thing? (I know Jazz/AC are also pickier on what referrals you can have) It’s a pre-hire sim that is part of the hiring proces...

Re: New CA Expectation

I want the AC Shareholders to -DIRECTLY- tell me why Canadian pilots need to earn 1/3 of their American counterparts. One third. Tell me why. If the answer is legitimate, and very convincing, I may settle for it. Otherwise, GO POUND SAND . I think to fully understand why, we need to study the Ameri...

Re: New CA Expectation

It’s a good idea, to re-deploy those aircraft off the lower yield routes and onto more profitable ones. They will funnel more passengers through the three main hubs. I kind of doubt that. Maybe some but a lot will shift over to WestJet. Why take a 12 hour day with a connection to go south on AC vs ...

Re: ALPA signing new agreements with training bonds

Of those that I know of that insist on training agreements the most onerous is that enforced by the CAF. Back in my day it was 5 years service after training completed, my understanding is it’s longer today. This isn’t the CAF. It’s ALPA, where pilots pay thousands each year in union dues to preven...

Re: Negotiations

You are making a rather large assumption that AC will still entertain negotiating with us at any point in the near future. They may not. Edited to include the quote. Sorry about that. You seem a little fear mongery to me. They have plans B, C, and D if you guys say no to this. All of which have a g...

No "No" voter ever regrets voting No It's always the "yes" voters that live with regret So true...always hard to find "yes" voters after the fact This won't be any different... Vote No I am voting yes. And I know I will have no regrets. If the economy slides into a recession, might be many who regr...

Re: Negotiations

You can't just walk off the job. Try me. If the employer does such a large violation of the intent of the agreement, its beyond a typical grievance. If the formal process doesn't work at shutting down contracting out to PAL, then Jazz is getting away with illegal labor practice. The whole intent of...

AC yyz narrow body CA is about 2-3 years for upgrade. And the lowest A220 CA starting around 200k. Hopefully AC's new contract can be better by end of 2023. Why is everyone assuming that AC won't be effected by this?? Y5 captain on the E2 makes more than an AC captain. At AC it takes you much much ...

Re: Denying Overtime

I used to be an engineer. I would quit and do that again. I was treated and paid way better as an engineer than a Canadian airline pilot. Ok, fair enough, I’m curious though, long term as an engineer will you make 200k plus. I know that long term AC will pay better than 98% of the jobs in Canada I ...
