Publish or perish. With very few exceptions, nearly all academic disciplines suffer from the need to publish papers regardless of whether or not the author has anything to say.

Re: Return of the Jump seat??!!
The challenge isn't financial, it's political. Canadian pilots don't care about OAL pilots so nothing gets done. Between AC, WS, TS, and SW the union does are on the order of what, $15m a year? Pretty easy to find the money if we wanted to.

Any truth to this or simply someone who has no clue what they are talking about?“Thanks to Nav Canada’s decision to close air traffic control towers, some airlines are considering consolidating their Saskatchewan service to Saskatoon,” Kram said.

Re: Return of the Jump seat??!!
Those rules have been around forever as an exemption. Doesn't do any good because the airline needs to confirm current employment status and they have no way of doing that for other carriers. In the US they quickly developed the CASS system so that everyone could still get to work. In Canada we don'...

Well obviously the winner for stupid moves has to be the YVR outlet mall. That right there should have been the end of Craig.

Re: Shock Cooling a myth?
Cool! Do you have any graphs for mixture usage? For exmaple: going cruise lean to full rich at altitude vs going cruise lean descend and then going full rich at circuit altitude Not really. EGT takes up to 30 seconds to stabilize and I can't think of anytime I would ever go full rich from cruise. I...

Data data data. We cannot make bricks without clay.
If you're saying that the CHTs come down faster after shutdown than at idle in flight, where are your graphs?

Over Limit CHT
We all know that running anywhere close to CHT limits on Lycoming and Continental engines is going to cause a lot of wear and tear, but what about actually exceeding those limits? Do Lycoming or Continental publish any guidance on what inspections should be done or is there a procedure to follow? Th...

Re: Importing US Experimental Aircraft - Maintenance
When an AME works on our aircraft they sign the maintenance release for their work. Usually when the owner of an amateur built aircraft gets an AME to work on it, it's because they don't feel confident doing it themselves. If they aren't comfortable doing the work, they aren't likely qualified to s...
