Re: WJ called out
WJ has been on a steady spiral down for a while. Egotistical & out of touch managers who expect too much from their employees without suitably compensating them. Their social media used to be all roses and butterflies but now you read the content and all you see is complaints. You know it is bad whe...

Re: 17 year TA?
Make more gains AFTER you sign a contract? Get this man away from his pen!! Pilot shortage: Boeing estimates the need for an addtional 790,000 new pilots by 2037. Almost coincided with 2035, hmmm https://www.forbes.com/sites/marisagarcia/2018/07/27/a-perfect-storm-pilot-shortage-threatens-global-avi...

Re: 17 year TA?
Pilots are the biggest bunch of pussies I’ve seen Let me get this straight: - retirements - world wide airline growth (read about what Boeing has to say about future requirements) - already on a 10 years contract To lock into a contract till 2035 - with no raise. Sorry 2% is not a raise. Better hope...

0 cancellations by AC & BA
3 (5%) cancellations by WJ
So 5% chance you ain’t going anywhere.
I’ll take the other options. Thanks for the stats!

Re: Anybody commuting to a US carrier?
So let me get this straight:
You moved from the country with a massive pilot shortage and much better compensation to move to the home of traffic congestion, money laundering, real estate shadow flipping, taxes, and where English is the second most pronounced language.
Can you move back?

NFTC didn't use classified information when I was there for fighter lead in training so I don't think the "basics" is too top secret.

Re: WJ vs. AC......performance
Lateralus, Realitychex provided a hypothetical and probable scenario that all junior AC pilots should consider. If fuel were 17 cents/litre more this quarter, the result would have been a million dollar loss every day. If that were to occur, one could reasonably assume a good number of the leased 7...

Oddly quiet here....
I assume the old poolies got "conditional" job offers before Xmas. Anyone get course dates?
Any comments on the latest ratios for OTS?

There are rumblings they are having a tough time meeting the 80% for various reasons so there is a possibility there will be more poolies on courses this fall.

Rumours that poolies will be getting called this fall in ratios higher than 80/20 and not a peep here.

West Coast Operators
Seen some rumbling about the pay at Orca and curious about other operators out there. Is it worth the pretty scenery to move out west or does lower pay and high prices make it unattractive?

Re: Air Canada Pool
Pilots are a commodity, mostly. If it makes you feel any better (it probably doesn't), macro hiring decision like this are made with greater goals in mind than what may or may not be fair to people on an individual level. This Jazz deal saves AC money in both the short and long term, and was done a...

Re: Air Canada Pool
Before the recession, there were over 100 "poolies" waiting for the call. They picked the top candidates for their last ground school and the rest got a PFO letter. You should be happy to have been on the list for the past 2 yrs. And you had to walk to school up hill both ways ? On a serious note -...
