Re: Bose Proflight

I have had one in the 737 for the last 3 days. Flew a turn to SFO, PHX and to YXX. I currently have the A20 and QC20i. The new headset is way lighter. 1/3 or more lighter, not including the cable. Love the way the new strap fits my head and allows the arms of my glasses to not be pressed into my hea...

Re: Bose Proflight Headset

It is lighter and less clamping than the A20.
If you have used the QC20i earbuds it’s the same active noise cancelling as those. The passive noise cancelling of the A20 is nice but for an airline it may not be necessary (individual requirement and plane specific).

Re: Swoop Blacklist

Here’s a question. Will the Maintenance engineer at YYJ or YXX walk over to that Swoop 737 and change the tire and brakes for 30% less an hour? Doubtful. I was in YXX 2 days ago and asked the mtce folks his exact question. They laughed and said no they will not. The only 2 groups who are not being ...

I missed this topic. Wish I had found it earlier. I used to coach Crossfit for 7 years. I have since dropped it from my certification but still use some of their workouts. Their philosophy is nothing new. It is just packaged in a different way than previous circuit training. Greg Glassman did a grea...

Re: Swoop pilot hiring.

If people don't want to work at Swoop, don't go to work at Swoop. This is basic economics and the right of citizens of a free society. WJ came along 21 years ago and brought sustainable competition to the airline market in Canada which provided consumers with choice, and in many, many cases brought...

I'd say the WJA shares have benefited as well.
Not the same % but still have just about passed the high in the last 2 years.

It used to be that PAT had power to not even disclose the pilots name for a few days till the dust settled but thats recently changed now Management needs a call from PAT with the pilots name and type of illness he will be off for..... Re: Easyjet claims "youngest" crew in commercial airline.

The airline may be trying to shake up interest in potential pilots by showing how quickly you can make it to the airlines. With the retirements increasing and fewer people coming through the flight school doors it could be a way to encourage people to look at the industry again. Can't argue that the...

The simple way to start the process of defining if you have an addiction.
Is there persistent use despite negative consequences. If you (or anyone else) can say yes to this, there may require some more investigation.

I know that numerous pieces of the 67 issues fall on WJ's lap, does anyone know if the maintenance issues are actually falling on theirs or Boeings? There must be a performance guarantee when it comes out of a Boeing maintenance program. I've heard rumours that all costs associated with the maintena...

guy is clearly nuts. WS should do psyc evals for applicants. Discuss. Not being a specialist in anything, I don't know that it would provide any benefit at all. Remember Williams from Trenton? He was under a microscope with the Military for years, they saw nothing to indicate his underlying issues.

You bet. Inaugural YEG OGG flight went mechanical and diverted to YYC. They then used the spare for the flight and used a 737 for the YYC HNL. Terrible optics. Can't be good for the180 min ETOPS certification as well. Bad optics, yes. Effect ETOPS, no. It was a window heat failure. Due to ETOPS req...

Single engine block time in / around YYC

Does anyone know of a person who may have a plane to rent for 100 or so hours in or around YYC?
Lokked at flight schools but they are a bit pricey for the number of hours.
If you think you may you can PM me.

Thanks!
