Re: United, Delta or American?
If ou live in Canada and work in the states, you will have to file taxes in both countries. Hiring a cross border accountant is very expensive. US/Canada cross border taxes are very complicated. If you're a green card holder living in Canada, US immigration will take it away if they find out you ar...

Re: Crew fatigue and grey areas
Is this mostly a Manitoba thing? I don't think any other provinces do this for medevac, just your standard 12hr shift. That's certainly not how AB health does things.12 hour shifts max here. Not really. Maybe you're "on call" or standby or whatever they use to have shorter than required reserve cal...

Re: Passport stamp from Iraq? Would it cause an issue?
I'm not sure you need an entry waiver. Canada is a visa-exempt country. I think you're thinking of visa waiver countries/ESTA where you would have to apply for a visa if you visited certain countries, including Cuba. Canadians do not require ESTA. The worst I can see happening is additional question...

Old planes that haven't had any change of ownership for a while don't have interim C of Rs on their registration certificates.

$65 a month for 25GB/Unlimited CAN-US through Telus EPP (corporate discount). Rogers had a similar deal through corporate, but 20GB. If you're an ALPA or I think Unifor member, you can get the Rogers corporate rate through unionsavings.ca, select Rogers Nomad Telecom. Many other companies have direc...

When I've had an inoperable transponder, I've just called the tower and it's never been an issue.

Re: Non rev travel for corporate?
Some US corporate guys (think Part 135 and big Part 91k management) have CASS, which some airlines allow jumpseat privileges to without an agreement. Or some have managed to get jump agreements because they theoretically would let the reciprocating airline use the backseat of the jet on an empty leg...

Re: ADS-B Deviation Authorization Pre-Flight Tool (ADAPT)
You can use it for ferrying an airplane for maintenance or to have it installed etc, but it's not a substitute for ADS-B just because you don't want to install it.

Re: Ferrying aircraft for time building
Sorry, I'm having difficulty understanding how ferrying an aircraft without hire or reward breaches the CAR's. I've known many people who have done this including me years ago. If someone asks you, "Hey, do you mind helping me out? I have a 182 in Red Deer I need to come to Toronto. I'm pretty busy...

Re: Main Cargo Door Latches
It's not possible to see the cargo door indicators on a walk around on a B767, and more than likely the door would have been open anyway. The only indication is the light on the door control panel next to the 1L door or the light in the cockpit. Some conversions also show an indication on the EICAS ...

Re: RAIC Transfer
Hi, do I have to get receipt from old RAIC for new one, at different airport and new company? It's preferable to get a receipt, but without it, they should still be able to call transport Canada and have the clearance transferred to their airport (I've done this twice). It takes a few days and you ...

Re: Trenton Military Terminal Area
There isn't actually any restricted airspace within the Class D Control Zone. Simply make radio contact with the tower or terminal controller and you may proceed.
It really is no problem however, they have no issue with you flying through.

Your crazy life aside I don't get why people mix their jobs and politics. It's like the "thin blue line" rhetoric with the police to the south, just stupid. Lots of cops wear some sort of thin blue line flag here too. 1364.fit_800,600.jpg https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/montreal-police-under-scrutiny-a...

Re: Trevor Jacob "staged" plane crash
He's going to probably enjoy life in prison. I'm not sure what the minimum sentences are, but there's a variety of state and federal charges he will probably be convicted of if they prove this was a hoax. 1) Reckless endangerment 2) Fraud (insurance) 3) EPA and State environmental regulations 4) 14 ...
