Re: CDC release study on masks during covid. Efficacy is 0.5-1.9 percent.
a bunch of healthcare workers have declined the vaccine Fire them. All of them. With extreme prejudice. I'm usually an ardent supporter of personal freedom regardless of consequence, but not with people who can't seem to grasp the idea that healthcare is supposed to stop further spread. These peopl...

Please, tell us more about Copernicus' execution.RedAndWhiteBaron wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 5:02 pm
Especially when you remember that Socrates and Copernicus were both executed for it, and we now revere them as visionaries without equal.

And you have to give them all equal weight, because you're not an expert. This is a mic drop moment, who could argue against this logic. I like it, if you’re not an expert in the field, give equal weight to each expert and go with the majority, if they are swayed, I too will be! Ah yes. Let's aband...

Re: Why do twin piston aircraft not have a barber pole?
That's an informative anecdote but it still doesn't seem to explain the "why." (Or maybe it is that simple, I don't know.) The aircraft I fly will theoretically never reach even close to barber pole in level flight at normal cruising altitudes in the fight levels. But it still has one. There's still...

Re: Pilot in Waiting or Flight Instructor
First, take whatever is available. Beggars can't be choosers and unfortunately, pilots are beggars again at the moment. Any job in the industry that is a flying seat or will lead to a flying seat is better than nothing. If you have multiple options, do whichever is best for you and best fits your li...

Re: Employee with PPL flying for the Company
Why throw good money after bad? If all you're doing is taking pictures (which, with your experience level is all you should be doing) just get a drone. Considerably more cost effective and better suited/purpose built for the task.

Re: Pilots in waiting NWAL Post
I could buy that argument for a single pilot aircraft, or at an operation that promotes/hires incompetent captains. But not where the capability exists to mentor a junior pilot. And I dare say that putting a fresh out of flight school 20 year old who just spent 12 months on the ramp into the right ...

Re: Pilots in waiting NWAL Post
This old school mentality needs to go away. Why? What mentality? The one where people do what they think is best for them and will give them the best chance at success in a tough industry? Every year there are x number of entry level flying jobs and probably in the neighbourhood of 5 x entry level ...

Re: Pilots in waiting NWAL Post
I don't think it would fly in any of the trades, and it sure as hell wouldn't fly in mine. I fail to understand why this is seen as an acceptable rite of passage in aviation I dare say that putting a fresh out of school 20 year old behind a keyboard is a very different thing than putting them behin...

Oh goodness. Suffering? Maybe take about 20-25% off the melodrama you know nothing about.RedAndWhiteBaron wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 10:07 pm Yes. Those before you suffered, so you should also.
God forbid we work in an industry where those before us work to improve things. That just wouldn't be fair.

Re: Pfizer Covid Vaccine shows 90% effectiveness.
Well, not really. Viruses were just another way in which our population was kept in check, until we became intelligent enough to outsmart mother nature with things like medicine and vaccines. There's too many people. Nature is trying to do what's necessary to fix that and we're getting in the way. W...

Are you seriously suggesting that conspiracy has *anything* other than negative connotations? I regularly use the word in a manner that is not negative. It's a legitimate use of the word. After all, you brought up its definition. Well....part of the definition. Either your vocabulary isn't broad en...

And no, I'm not being antagonistic; just pointed out that you said you're not a conspiracy theorist, and then went on to describe the conspiracy theory in which you believe. Then you told me a whole load of stuff with which I disagreed. It's not antagonistic to point that out, is it? You're deliber...

Re: Ontario Stay Home Order coming in.
If you want to go to Merriam Webster, here's the first definition for "conspire": 1a: to join in a secret agreement to do an unlawful or wrongful act or an act which becomes unlawful as a result of the secret agreement And from Merriam-Webster, here's the part you conveniently omitted: 2: to act in...

Yes, of course. All governments chart a course somewhere between what they think is the best, and what the people will accept. Indeed. Unfortunately, sometimes the things they think are best can be things like marching the populace en masse out into rice fields for slave labour and wholesale execut...

Re: Ontario Stay Home Order coming in.
You simply cannot say this isn't a grand conspiracy, and then describe it, as you do, as a grand conspiracy. You either believe in secret agendas and purposes, which makes you a conspiracy theorist, or you don't. Don't you get that? People in government, are all doing their level best to govern. Yo...

Re: Ontario Stay Home Order coming in.
I don't believe this to be a grand conspiracy in the sense that it has been orchestrated by some secret, powerful cabal, but I can understand the inclination to think that way. I do believe there is a huge amount of opportunism and profiteering happening, as there is during all down turns and disast...
