No idea about recent info, but I would hope to god they would pay more than what Airline Pilot Central said 4 years ago (info updated 2011):

Re: Canadian PILOTS working abroad. Would I get hired in CAN
I would stay at your company until you have enough hours to qualify for the Canadian ATPL. Once you have it, you can try your luck at Calm Air or First Air on their ATR. The hours I would say count the same. You could knock on their door with your type rating and an IATRA..

805ITT, I appreciate your feedback about PASCO. Do you currently work there? I see your location as YAV (St Andrews, MB) on your avatar.

Re: Pacific Coastal Airlines
I will blow some dust off this topic and ask if there is anyone out there with current information about Pasco regarding pilot hiring? What are their TT minimums and what is their pay and work schedule like for 1900 & Saab Capt & FOs? Il be applying with an ATPL and 1600 TT, 85% of it multi engine. ...

Re: Kasper air?
I've seen the airvan used in the Safari in Africa, but just looking at that "plastic?" pod makes me wonder how long it will last in frigid -35 degrees loading and unloading all day. I'd like to know what they will plan on paying their new pilots..

Re: Which Canadian operators offer 2 week rotations?!?
Not bad! A bit of a topic changer (sorry) but does anybody know of operators with these kind of rotations that allow wives (or hubbys) to use flight passes too? Going to the Dominican on your own would not seem so attractive...

Re: Which Canadian operators offer 2 week rotations?!?
Any idea if First Air offers flight passes? How does the rotation work ie how do the pilots travel to YFB?

That dreaded Red S with a dot.
Now that Winter is at our front door knocking hard, what are your go/no-go decision points after looking at GFA and TAFs for a proposed flight into known or forecast icing. Obviously after looking at your POH and any additional STCs or mods making your aircraft eligible to fly in known or forcast ic...

Re: GA needs new blood!
60+ eh, probably all the A/C retirees reminiscing about the old days and buying piper cubs etc with their hard earned pension.. you gotta remember, we don't get paid much at all in the first 10 years of our career, so not many can afford to take part in a fly in with our own aircraft we cant afford....

Re: King Air vs 1900 Question
FL250 is the highest an aircraft is legally allowed to fly without drop down oxygen masks (B1900) in Canada. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe most B1900 have the plug-in style oxygen masks, just like the ATRs and the Dash 8s limiting them to FL250 max (with passengers). Depending on the model,...

Re: Diversion Question
Simple question. A friend suggested acronym DDD TAFGA for use during diversions... Though he didnt tell me what all of it was. I was taught to just do it. Would be cool if there is an easier way though. Any ideas what DDDTAFGA stands for? To try and answer the OP's question, here is my stab at it. ...

Re: IATRA
There are BE10 fitted with Garrett engines which puts it into the "high-performance" category with an excess of a Vne higher than 250kts, requiring an IATRA or As.
cdnpilot77 wrote:And further to that, an IATRA is not required for the Be10.

Re: Vfr 702 to ifr 703 move
Oxi is right. Not all days are down to minimums. I was never a jump pilot but I went into my first job with little to no IFR experience. I know you have some stick and rudder time under your belt which helps tremendously, but as a 250 hr pilot myself who started in the right seat turbine going strai...

My spouse and I make in excess of 100k a year, and there is no way were are even considering buying right now. Once interest rates go up (and they will), people will start to default, and some of the air in the bubble is going to come out. Drive around Edmonton or Calgary, see some of the cookie cu...

Affordabilty of Housing as a Pilot
As we all know, the pay for what we do isn't nearly as high as we would like it to be and many of us have had the financial strain of many things such as student loans, buying a first car (a beater to get to the airport and back doesn't count), paying for a full vacation with the family, paying for ...

Satelite Phone
I am sure we have all been in a pickle once or twice when the phone at our destination is out of order or the airport manager has decided to shut shop for the night. Is anybody flying around with a handheld sat-phone that is fairly cheap to buy and operate? I fly mainly in Ontario, Manitoba and some...
