He seems like a likeable kinda guy! Sounds like his front door neighbor has an axe to grind with the poor guy... Shit, if my front door neighbor had a little bug smasher in his driveway, I'd probably head over with a box of suds, patio chairs and "shop talk" with them under a wing in the nice cool s...

Re: Good places to do an IFR ride to activate ATPL
Thanks for all the advice. I assume if one were to go to Cornwall on a commercial flight Ottawa would be the place to land. Where do you guys stay when your their for training? Yep. Fly into CYOW, get the cheapest hotel you can find and spend the night. Book your instructor/examiner for the next mo...

Re: Good places to do an IFR ride to activate ATPL
I'll second everyone here suggesting you go to Cornwall. I've renewed with them in the sim and they were great. The last time I renewed was to validate my ATPL and I called them on a Saturday to book their Seminole and an instructor/examiner for a refresher/ride. Their response over the phone was "w...

Call Transport (Young St. Toronto office) and explain what your looking for. They have provided me with such a letter twice over the last decade. Hope that helps! Gents,
It's a moot point. If a C-150 can take out an F-16 anything (including the F-35) can!

Good question!
Love my Zulu's but man do they ever suck when the batteries crap out!
Let me know if you find a suitable alternative Cap41, as although I like the "feel" of the original Zulu ear seals would love gel type ones (with a liner a la David Clark!)

Re: Skyquest Aviation or Sea Land Air Flight Center?
I'd bet a pint that a pilot trained on steam gauges, especially in IFR is a more competent pilot then one trained on a G1000. Don't worry too much about the fancy avionics in the aircraft, once you have a CPL and get a job with a company that has Glass, they will train you on it. I'd pick the schoo...

I find this conversation and the actual event being discussed absolutely hilarious! One of my co-workers suggested that we ensure that our intercoms were "isolated"...

It's not uncommon for the majority of the inhabitants on these reserves to live in squalor while the chief and his/her supporters have big brand new houses and trucks and snow machines etc. I've been only working here for a few weeks now but in and out of a ton of NW Ontario reserves. Talking to so...

Re: Mounting a GoPro on a Cherokee Six
I dont think its legal. Agreed. Mounting anything on a certified A/C without an STC voids the C of R. However, I think the OP wants to do so regardless of the legalities (which I do not agree with). With that said, where might he/she be able to place a "go-pro" on the A/C which would minimize the c...
