Re: Sky regional 2.0
Stop kidding yourselves...PAL's AC contract flying is a small slice of that companies overall pie...kind of like where JAZZ seems to be fitting into the Chorus group of companies. Also heard they have been cutting their own routes in an effort to cover that small piece... though that is just a rumo...

Re: WestJet Sunwing merger and seniority
Personally I think the most fair is merge by DOH. All WG pilot keeps their bases. WG Capts that get bumped down to FO gets full pay protection. This will sucks for senior west based WG FOs as it will stall their career progression but they will get a pay bump and better benefits. Airline mergers suc...

Yeah don’t exercise, stop drinking and eating goyslop, just swallow some SSRIs, it’s safe and effective. *warning* side effects may include suicidal ideation and death. Oh and they don’t work. No refunds tho. https://adaa.org/learn-from-us/from-the-experts/blog-posts/professional/just-antidepressant...

The theme remains the same Canadian pilots are underpaid and shills are undermining the profession Hey but you’re making slightly more than the wage slave at the Amazon warehouse therefore if you enjoy anything better than bulk Costco KD 7x a week and not putting 80% of your take home pay into rent...

Re: Having a hard time with MET practical questions.. (SAMRA)
You can easily solve these by process of elimination. The easier one to start is the ISA/temperature. Chart is at FL240 ISA is 15C at MSL -2C per 1000’ would give you ISA at 24,000” at -33C (15 minus 48) Area C is between -40 and -44 and closest station shows -42C so you can reasonably assume area C...

European carriers by EASA law are force to publish their schedule 14 days in advance, and I think some of the American majors had it in their last contract to be more than that but I can’t recall which one(s).
Personally I think it should be 4-6 weeks ahead.

Of course the experiment has been a disaster and most big tech companies are now forcing their employees back to the wagie cagie because WFH abuse/theft. They’re too busy ‘working’ from home right now. Pool closing season is in full force. Dog walking and Amazon online shopping also takes up a good chunk of the average TC employees day. During my WEF sponsored covid vacations, I scored a great WFH tech job. Some of my fellow coworkers were doing may...

who's the most at risk.. The new fresh captain who's sharp and have the desire to do good. or the old captain who skips every briefing with every FO Depends. We’ve all flown with with old really sharp guys and mediocre youngsters and vice versa. But ultimately, for the most part, there’s no shortcu...

Re: 787 upgrade
At least a WJ 787 FOs will earn more than 55k/yr to operate a WB
I would hazard a guess that there’s no WJ 787 FOs making less than 180.
If you want to get early WB experience there’s CJ, AT and of course the pirates of the Caribbean flying the flag.

This is if you believe that ALL license holders are active and haven’t quit flying for profit. I myself (ATPL) left Sunwing and flying as a career after being laid off during the pandemic, and I know others who have as well (including some who even made it to AC/WJ). Actually being home every night...

Carson YLW Captains actually never had a retention issue and it’s almost surprising they listed a DEC job posting, usually it goes internal and most left seat guys there are lifers. It is actually quite a good job with a good schedule.

Just change your drawers if you shit yourself. Flipping them inside out is for the regional guys. Don’t eat the lukewarm mystery meat burger at the snack bar in Varadero. In fact, don’t eat anything on a Cuban layover. Your crew, body and underpants will thank you. Ignore this advice at your own ri...

The 737-800 can take some really hard landings without structural damage. This seems different, from the video it really doesn’t look like the kind of landing that causes the main to go through the wing. Wonder if something was already pre-fractured or weaken.

Are they still doing the South Africa DEC as well ? That’ll be a great match for those nice stormy winter nights. We all know about the terrific braking performance of the 738 on short slippery runways.
