Re: Things learned in the real world
One of the best things I was told when I got my first job (C206 on wheels) was go everywhere at 300-500 feet well the weather was clear, then when you get the first shit weather day it is not surprising to you to be that low and it looks formiluar. try a 180 deg turn, try flaps 20 slowed down BEFORE...

Re: AC in SFO. Again...
Wonder if they were doing an LDA PRM to one of the runways? The requires two radios on two different frequencies so could see how maybe a finger pushing problem. Can’t remember the last time I looked at the tower on short final either. But if landing at a place like KSFO and it’s busy but quiet on t...

Re: New Pilot owns plane looking for suggestions.
Not sure if anyone has said this as I did not read the hole thing but the best piece of advice I got when I was biting around building time was no more day flying. At some point you will need the night PIC and depending on how your path takes you it could be really important!! I know people that had...

Re: New yyz slots..this is gonna hurt!
When we go into anywhere that has slots we have a chat with the pax about how important it is that they make the time or we may have to wait an unknown amount of time. They are always very thankful that we let them know and are on time or call ahead if there is a porblem. I wonder if some people are...

Re: Collective Wisdom
I have an 05 golf TDI and I love it!! For winter I have a set of winter tires that go on it and I put in a heater last year that with a timer comes on 2-3 hours before I have to leave and at -30 the engine is at normal tep when I start it no heat problems as it heats the coolant. Only way to go. It ...

Re: March 11 2013 Air Canada Incident YYZ Embraer and a Van
Weather or not i herd my full call if I was sort final and someone was calling out go-around I think its hit TOGA could have been a bigger picture that they may not know about just because the touch down area was clear. Easier to ask why did we get sent around after than a worse out-come.

The only numbers published for the 350 were balanced feild there were never just required feild numbers made it a real pain to fly onto 3000 feet it would more than do it by far but throw in balanced feild and it got real thight

I looked it over a few times and do not see this 4 year bond that you guys are talking about? years ago what they wanted to see from a new guy (250 hour guy) was that they would stay for 4 years no paper work just a hand shake. In that time you would fly the 172 206 207 and most guys were right seat...
