Re: Do the Executives send former ACPA Reps thank you cards
That’s wonderful that management can give themselves millions in bonuses. They are basically saying they will have no problems giving the pilots a proper wage during negotiations.

Canada has too large of distances between cities and incredibly high expenses like landing fees and fuel taxes for these ultra low cost airlines to make a go of it here.

If not, you’ll see the Bus drivers driving for YOS on the AirBus. definitely time to be looking for a scope clause ...

Re: Pilot Employment Beyond Age 65
I don’t get it. If you’re that much in love with flying go buy a Cub or a small Cessna. There’s also corporate jobs where you fly but a lot less. The thought of getting up at age 65 at 0400 local on the east coast to go through security and get frisked by some CATSA flunkies interests you go ahead. ...

Re: Pilot Employment Beyond Age 65
Both the employer and the JAZ MEC are betting this LOU will withstand a CHRT challenge. I am not convinced. It is very narrow. Perhaps too narrow. What do you mean? Almost all of our flying is to the US in the east. If they can’t legally fly there what’s the company supposed to do? There’s still Q4...

Well thank goodness no STD/LTD past 65. I wouldn't want to see the benefit premiums if that were to occur.

The Lieberals are so corrupt stuff like this doesn’t even raise an eyebrow anymore. Sooner or later the money printer will run out then things will get exciting.

Re: Pilot Employment Beyond Age 65
I could see them being put on the Q400. The E175 is almost all US flying and the RJ is especially out east so probably YMM turns out west and YTS turns out east . Some are already doing simulator training which I think is alright.

Re: New hire bids
Year 1 CA pay at Jazz is around $108/hr. It tops out at $165/hr after 17 years. Porter E195 CA STARTS at $190/hr. There is no way Jazz will get qualified DEC with that compensation. Not even close.

Re: New hire bids
Not sure what accounts for this as I would have to dig a little more to figure it out but when the bid was published, there was 72ish Captain vacancies. The bid award has 93 Captain vacancies by my count after it was processed, so first, obviously we either don’t have qualified pilots or those who ...

Had to still have a fair amount of fuel with that amount of fire so I doubt it was air contamination in the lines. I was just there not too long ago. Lots of large birdies in SW Fla but you’d think he’d say we hit some large birds…

Re: Pilot Employment Beyond Age 65
Good news! Since the majority of our flying is to the US this will limit their options. I suppose the post 65 gang can do some domestic flying if they want to on the Q or become simulator instructors as well.

Re: Pilot Employment Beyond Age 65
Also someone correct me if I’m wrong: If you stay working you can’t collect your pension so you would be leaving behind a 6 figure pension till you retire so you’ll be staying on as a captain and theoretically making a 5 figure income since you aren’t collecting your pension.

A) Made poor choices in women and now flat piss broke due to alimony payments.
B) Has no life outside flying/unhappy home life. Wears pilot uniform to stores after work.

Apparently not. https://www.reuters.com/article/idUSL1N34J2M0/ Maybe there’s more heart problems popping up on ECGs lately. Possibly due to climate change? Depends which news sites you trust. I tend not to trust the mainstream or state funded media after all their lies but you believe in...
