Re: "Frozen" paint job

$380000.00  lot of dough How does cost work..does Disney pay some or is it all on WJ's dime? I think most, if not all, is covered by Disney. You might not like flying it, but it's just a paint job (and in this case interior), and the guests love it. It brings in the business, I'll take it. T...

Can't speak to how Catsa looks at the aerosol bottle, but they don't look twice at razors. Take it off and you'll feel better.

Call your RAMO as they hold your ability to get flying again in your hands. If your in the west/north it is Jay Danforth. He does answer his phone and would way rather you talk to him than any one else.

Re: Boeing question with regard to icing conditions

In 10 years on the 737 out of YYC, I have never seen anyone bumped for having to have de-ice selected on for take off.

And I would guess there are many more for many year more who have never had it either. So it is a moot point.

Use your judgement for workload.

WJ Pilot CIRB complaint

Hey RealityChex, any comment as to the role of PACT in trying to keep certification out? In FlightPath Clive states that's what it's for. Any history lesson you'd like to comment to? http://calgaryherald.com/business/local-business/westjet-accused-of-unfair-labour-practices A hearing set to begin on...

Re: Do noise cancelling headsets protect or damage your ears

I'm waiting for the "in ear" active headset to materialize (personal listening has had them for years) -- what pisses me off about the existing ear muffs is their poor performance in passive mode -- Bose has the QC20i. Love them personally. You do get a bump when in the back of the 737 and the Capt...

Re: How loud is an airplane cockpit?

The Boeing 737NG's are around 80-84db in the front end.
most of the pilots I fly with are using the Bose A20 or the Sennheiser active noise cancelling headsets.
When I am in the back, I use the Bose QC20i. Aweomse!

Re: New Headset and my 2013 taxes

It may be required in the CARS & most COM/FOM's but I will tell you with certainty that it will NOT be allowed if audited. Revenue Canada controls what is on the list of acceptable deductible items. For pilots: headsets, watches and shoes are not allowed (all 3 are required) We as a group need to ap...

Re: part time flying

Not many and I believe you have to be close to retirement. But you could accomplish the same thing by dropping some flying each month. If you're able to get it picked up by anyone. It's been a challenge as of late, unless its 6+ hour 1 day. I've had 3, 4 & 5 days to give away and none were picked u...
