Re: What's the difference?
oh, they did teach me that AME rates M, E, S type and I check in CARS, and that's it With your attitude and lack of knowledge I bet that had more to do with you not getting the job.. If you don't understand how an AMO operates, then you shouldn't be looking.. If you are an avionics apprentice you a...

Re: Docking on a river
In all reality, you have to balance the wind and water speeds. If the current is running at 6 knots and the tailwind is 9 knots then you end up with a 3 knot tailwind when you take off. I will take the current when the wind is not too much of a factor, it works the same when you are landing. At YVR ...

Re: .1 or .2 to airtime on floats
As JC says it's really what you do dock to dock.. If you are taking the eastbound out of YWH, and landing eastbound in CXH you'd be hard pressed to do it even in .2.. Or if you are doing a southbound departure out of Male you would be hard pressed to even get the take off done in .2.. Whatever you l...

Re: Tips to Getting Tips
Pretty sad state of affairs when pilots are begging for tips in my opinion. Hold out for better wages and you don't need them!! Just a thought.. But as stated before, if you do get them, appreciate them and share them. It is a team effort to get that airplane airborne, from reservations, tour desks,...

CID twotter, I would be upset if I cared about your opinion. But alas you're just a piece of dog shit on the bottom of my shoe. Excuse me while I find a scraper. Cheers. And you wonder why people don't like you. You are the first to complain about anyone saying anything bad about you but this is how...

Re: Tips to Getting Tips
The best tip I ever got was on a picnic trip from Vancouver to Chatterbox falls. It was a couples 50th anniversary and I gave them the grand tour, we did the coastal run low level up the sunshine coast and then Sechelt and Jervis inlets on the way up there, I set them up for a great picnic, poured t...

Why don't you just build one?? Easy enough to get a new regulator and guages from someone like Acklands-Grainger and just build your own.. The new parts come with calibration certs..
Hope it helps.

Re: The pros and cons of the Apache/Geronimo
I've flown the 150, 160, 180 and 250 hp PA23's and they are all good. The one . used to have was a good airplane when I flew it, before he had it.. The only maintenance issue I remember can be the hydraulic power pack which can be a bit troublesome at times. Other than that it's a pretty simple airp...

It all depends on who you want to work for and where you want to work.. There are companies out here that will hire you with 100 hours or less on floats. There are other companies that have more stringent requirements and want you to have 1500 tt with 1000 on floats.. West coast time is an asset but...

Re: TBO of R-985
It is mostly based on satisfactory tear down reports from your engine overhaul facility. If you start at 1200 and send an engine in for overhaul and the teardown report shows that it could have gone longer you "may" get and extension to 1300 or 1400 depending on TC's mood that day.. If your engines ...
