Re: Negotiations

You are making a rather large assumption that AC will still entertain negotiating with us at any point in the near future. They may not. Edited to include the quote. Sorry about that. You seem a little fear mongery to me. They have plans B, C, and D if you guys say no to this. All of which have a g...

Re: Negotiations

No "No" voter ever regrets voting No It's always the "yes" voters that live with regret So true...always hard to find "yes" voters after the fact This won't be any different... Vote No I am voting yes. And I know I will have no regrets. If the economy slides into a recession, might be many who regr...

Re: Negotiations

You can't just walk off the job. Try me. If the employer does such a large violation of the intent of the agreement, its beyond a typical grievance. If the formal process doesn't work at shutting down contracting out to PAL, then Jazz is getting away with illegal labor practice. The whole intent of...

Re: New pay scale Aug 1 Dash and E2

AC yyz narrow body CA is about 2-3 years for upgrade. And the lowest A220 CA starting around 200k. Hopefully AC's new contract can be better by end of 2023. Why is everyone assuming that AC won't be effected by this?? Y5 captain on the E2 makes more than an AC captain. At AC it takes you much much ...

Re: Denying Overtime

I used to be an engineer. I would quit and do that again. I was treated and paid way better as an engineer than a Canadian airline pilot. Ok, fair enough, I’m curious though, long term as an engineer will you make 200k plus. I know that long term AC will pay better than 98% of the jobs in Canada I ...

Re: Denying Overtime

There's a couple of things in the contract, or the law, that pilots aren't availing themselves of: Special Days Off (SDO) Family Responsibility Leave (FRL) These are both readily available upon request. Use them if you need them! That's what they're there for. You don't need to feel any guilt. the ...

Re: Denying Overtime

If the new contract is anything less than historic, many recent hire FOs will be taking their talents elsewhere. In a global pilot shortage, there is no justification for 4 years of flat pay. as one of those, I will be very depressed if I don't see a change in lifestyle/pay. Looks bleak when I thin...

i havent been to work in a few weeks where the board WASNT 80% orange (delayed). I dont think AC cares.

Re: Negotiations

A unions job should be to improve conditions at the company, not help people leave the company. I’d gladly vote for 0 flow if it meant a generous increase. People should want to come to jazz cause it’s a great place to work, not just as a stepping stone to ac and the union should be fighting to mak...

Oh my god dude… do you not realize it’s illegal(not to mention unethical) for the company(or union or anyone for that matter)to pry into someone’s medical condition? Re: Schedule satisfaction

Instead of publishing pairings and having pilots bid on them, why not bid first and have pairings generated based off of your bid? Most of Air Canada’s pilots satisfaction travails could be solved if pilots themselves were involved in the pairing generation process. Air Canada is the first airline ...

Well, the training departement is a joke actually on some type... Brand new captain that didn't fly the plane for less than a few months teaching the new hires.. Disaster waiting to happen! I couldn't imagine the responsibility of CA while having the threat of a probationary period over my head, and yes they are terminating people in the yr period regardless of shortage. Of course, I would expect them to have high standards for captains. I was just saying if you’re gonna try and tackl...
