Re: One of the truly good guys, Wayne McLeod has passed away.
So sad. Wayne was one the first Captain's I flew with back in 1999 when I got hired for my first flying job with Keewatin Air. I flew the PC-12, Merlin SW2A, Learjet 35A, and the King Air 200 with him at different times while I was at Keewatin/Critical Care International through to 2005. I will reme...

There are many handy apps for an ipad or phone that will calculate crosswind/RFI and tailwind components by punching in a few numbers.
They should be included as part of the suite for pilots with EFBs.

Re: Flair Summer Expansion
Dont ever believe the quoted prices on their website man, that's the classic attitude that leads to people being taken advantage of by ULCcs, their hole business model is predicated on taking advantage of exactly that. When we did flights for Flair a few years back the passengers were mostly immigr...

Other than the incredible scenery what I remember most are the super hot English handler we had and the Mig-31s parked near the runway with armed guards, I still managed to take a few pics as we lined up to take off. This is going back 18 years when we had to fly the full NDB arrival to get into the...

I don't know how "low cost" Flair employees are now but the gist of what the new CEO is putting out there is that they might end up being even lower cost in his vision of a ULCC.

I had shoulder surgery to re-attach a tendon to the humorous and it was a 3+ month recovery till I could reach the everything I needed to on the overhead panel. Once I could I got my medical back.
I believe that as soon as you are required to have surgery of this type you lose you medical.

This pandemic is showing just how fragile our capitalist democracy is and how close to the brink businesses and corporations are running in order to give the shareholders and the executives as much of the company profit as possible on the backs of the workers. It's showing how greed is more importan...

China is making an absolute killing off of this pandemic... pun intended. World... here is a virus for you now wait a few months and we will supply all the PPE to help keep you safe. But, they may or may not actually work correctly... you know "Made in China".

The more concerning thing is that China is profiting off of their viral pandemic and look to keep supplying the globe with PPE.
It's absolute horseshit.

Interesting because for the enforcement of the approach ban a RNAV LPV is still considered non-precision... unless that has changed.

Re: Approach ban
I think an RNAV LPV is still considered a "non precision" approach so the ILS CAT1 approach ban doesn't apply to it.
