Re: Huge discouragement

Which Airline? Air Canada. Went to flight school, got a degree, then took a few years off and worked in the oil patch, did some geo technical drilling, drove truck a bit and then sent em a resume and got in! I will apply but likely waste of time. If I can't get offered an FO position at EVAS or Air...

You don't have to worry about working much, just slap on a MEL sticker if you can find room.

Re: 3 cropdusters in 2 weeks.

Crop spraying outfits have a get er done mentality. That is a rather insulting statement to the crop spraying industry. How much crop spraying experience do you have to make that statement? A quick glance at his posts will tell you. And it is insulting. Some of the best pilots were/are crop dusters.

seems like some here would do well in a communist regime receiving the same loaf bread as any other commrade regardless of job. And people wonder why pilots settle for less. Check your commie cards.

What’s this “pool” BS. You can’t tell people you have vacancies and then shove them in a pool to hold with other applicants so you can cherry pick when convenient when the time comes. How many of those people would have found jobs by then anyway? You need a vacancy filled? Post an ad with a closing...

Re: Workaround.....

I'm often amused by these young aces who think unions are going to bring them gold bars every day but ultimately pay and working conditions are determined by the market. Well the union at AC has given decent pay rates, trip regs, and bonuses. And we’re not picking up trash at end of a flight, just ...

Re: Air Georgian-National Post Article

Yes in my opinion it's fair, you are entitled to your opinion to. With avg Canadian salary below that, many would love to make that amount of money. Huh? A base pay of 4900 CAD/month (70 CAD/credit, 70 min credit) for an RJ captain is fair?? Unless you have access to an updated pay scale, that seem...

Re: Union at Sky

I hope success. Worried that many may not want to rock the boat so that their flow through to air canada would not be put in jeopardy. I would hope no one would think that, as that would be absurd. It's a completely confidential process. AC already pulls from 2 express carriers with ALPA. Anyone de...

Re: Exit Polls Showing Over 90% Strike Mandate Support

Don't let "sqwak" extremely juvenile comments divide you. Air Canada pilots have been through this, and more, over the last 5 decades. They have a backbone. This must be the lost decade then, because actions show otherwise. Care to give away the cargo flying again? Care to lock into another 10yr co...

There's a difference between a WJ pilot and a AC pilot. WJ pilots have a backbone.

Maybe. Just maybe. If this industry wasn't 5hit, less ppl would complain. But, here we are. Well....are AC pilots paid 5hit..... Let me fix that for you. Well... AC pilots are 5hit...
