I might be inclined to guess that quite a bit of that is SWOOP running head to head against Flair. The flight matching is expected and it looks like it's starting soon...

Re: Countries better than Canada for flying?

In order to not pay any taxes in Canada one needs to divest themselves of all Canadian bank accounts, property etc to be considered a “non resident”. No, One does not. One may own property and have Canadian bank accounts and pay mortgages and have financial attachments while one is declared Non Resi...

(and criminals getting preference as well). You do understand how this spreads right? The chance that the hard working and law abiding workers inside and in close contact with those criminals you seem to fear can take that virus home and infect the "innocent" right? Then that gets spread in the comm...

Re: Private Jets & COVID rules

I'm a journalist looking to speak with people in the private jet industry about how COVID has impacted business and how quarantine rules and testing are handled when you're flying back into Canada. Message if you'd like to chat. Go take a look at the COVID sub-forum here and read through some of th...

For all majority of people who think our government sucks and needs to do better; why did ya all vote liberal? I know i voted for anyone else but. Hopefully we can mobilize this feeling to theow these jokers out. Make it a repeat of 1984 reduce them to a shadow of their former selves. But I don’t b...

Re: TSB Investigation - Canadian Approach Minimums

Change the regs? What with Nav Canada and TC busy shutting down ground based navaids, closing or reducing service from existing control towers and increasing availability and approvals for GNSS RNAV type usages, not much hope of a reg change in my mind. Money talks.

Re: TSB Investigation - Canadian Approach Minimums

Quick question. In your whole career exactly how many CAT II (right down to minimums and/or CAT III A and B for that matter) approaches have you had to do in real time? (not in the sim for qualification etc) I'll bet you find it's a pretty low number. It's why the costs to upgrade all those runways ...

Yeah, that poor bugger is going to have to live with that blunder for likely the rest of his career. No doubt he'll take some ribbing from his colleagues and friends. He had his moment with that call and it wasn't the prettiest I've heard. I'm guessing that by the time you get to be senior enough to...

Re: Flair Summer Expansion

Personally I think the future of the ULCC market is entirely dependent on what Westjet does with SWOOP. If they go all in then Flair and anybody else in the ULCC market is toast. If Westjet keeps treating SWOOP as a union busting sideshow like they have to date, then I think Flair has a real chance...

So with flair coming in to YKF, how will this affect Pivots planned scheduled flying out of there ? Seems to me the airport will be over saturated. Last I looked (yesterday) Pivot showed one (1) CRJ100 on their OAC and were offering it up for charter flights. Not sure of your definition of over sat...

So. It's who you know. In addition it's (and this is HUGE) who knows YOU! The Corp side is especially an Old Boy's Club. I've seen the ads, and know who is being called and who will never get a sniff. Those jobs are virtually a lock for the one who has a PPC on type and corp experience. It's easy to...
