Re: Under 6'2 and 200 lbs?

Looks like they're really concerned with their useful load. Can't blame them really - especially when you look at the size of the average Yank these days. You got to wonder if they'd make a profit otherwise.

Re: I miss flying floats.

It's possible to have the best of both worlds. You can instruct and float fly. Many have done it - so yes its possible to be a real pilot that instructs in the city. One key thing - your time instructing, assuming you'll have decent PIC time, will be enough to get on for most companies insurance min...

Re: ANR Headsets + wearing glasses

Purchase yourself a Bose headset and end this nonsense.

If you don't want to go that route, then wisest choice would be to keep that Zulu junk, and wear sunglasses with thinner arms - NOT them Gucci/Jackie Onasis/Ruff Ryder set you're probably sporting.

Re: PIC single engine piston, or Co pilot Multi Turbine time?

Get the PIC time.
Just having copilot hours may lengthen your upgrade time to captain considerably.
Better to have at least 1000 PIC under your belt, then embark on the copilot journey.

Just my 2 cents...

What exactly do you mean by bush plane?
Are you referring to a specific aircraft or seaplanes and skiplanes?

Re: Funniest Bestest Commercials EVOOR

Definitely Smirnoff's Tea Partay has to RANK NUMBER 1

Reminds me of few doucher Pilots I've had to horror to encounter at some docks/flight schools.

Trust me - it's a must watch

Nothing to do with aviation, but worthy

Re: Thinking about being a pilot. Need some advice

If you're buying from the Ground Up - be sure to purchase the Canadian edition. ASA publishes both an American and Canadian edition, with the major differences being in Air Law. Also aside from air law and weather services, you might want to check out the FAA's website for a free download of their P...

Cell phone/MP3 adapter for a Bose headset?

Can anyone recommend a good cell phone/mp3 adapter for the Bose headset?

It seems that there is a few brands out there, varying in price considerably - so can anyone vouch for a particular product?

This video should be a prerequisite for ALL upcoming (and established) pilots - especially the ones who are about to graduate from one of those aviation colleges.

Real Aviation Hero - "buzzing"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hr7qke4Jy9s

This got a good laugh outta me.

Shit, I've heard numerous pilots brag about their "buzzing" the outpost guests in their boats with a float plane. Serious skill I imagine. If only I went to their flight school...

Re: Entry level float operators Vancouver/Van Island or BC??

I'm just getting so annoyed at everyone telling me I need to move to some depressing small town and work on a dock(for low pay) for a year just for the chance of getting a flying job the next year. Cry me a river. Do you think you are more special than anyone else that has tried to break into the i...

Worst recession since the 1940's Yet....WCA management are bastards for not treating their pilots like well. They should sell their office building so that they can pay you more money. Do you still live at home with your parents? Well since this is the worst recession since the 40's then it would w...
