Re: No Bailout for Bombardier
Not a fan of bail outs. But the cost to the taxpayers if bombardier goes down the drain won’t be cheap. Let’s say you give a billion dollars to a company with 40k employees, that’s 25k per employee. Now if these are good paying jobs, you will basically get all your money back in a year of income ta...

New Employee Travel Dress Code
Am I reading this correct. As long as it is not stained, dirty, transparent, torn, revealing, or otherwise compromises a neat appearance, it is permitted. Will we be seeing employees in sweat pants and flip flops travelling on passes?

Re: Question regarding, manifests, airlines and regulations. Boarded a plane, fell asleep and missed my stop
Yes, legally speaking maybe the weight and balance was off by 220lbs, however, I suspect that: If you use standard weights on an atr size aircraft, you're already off by more than 220lbs. And, I don't think the aircraft performance wise or C of G position wise, will care about 220lbs in row 7C. I d...

Re: Gender X weight
I feel that "Gender X" is identity appropriation. It's far too similar to "Generation X", "Gen X", etc, and unfairly associates/confuses with my age identity. There are 23 other letters to choose from, plus infinite numbers, or just plain old something else. Gen X came first. Those incels better pi...

If your having a weight issue just ask everyone to self identify as female. You can then usually get all the passengers and bags on.

Re: New hire bids
You're fooling yourself if you think otherwise. I haven't seen the lifestyle at Encore, but I am right to be skeptical about Jazz based on the fact that they make you agree to move somewhere before telling you where. I don't mean to pick on you specifically, plausiblyannonymous, but being a recent ...

Re: August Equip Bid
Now that AC bid is out Jazz will need lots of pilots if AC needs to fill each GS with 60% of Jazz pilots. I think Jazz will need to give AC 480 pilots ... ouch That assuming the 600+ Transat pilots aren’t filling a bunch of them I doubt very much that AC will park all the TS planes. Under ACPA rule...

Re: August Equip Bid
Isn't the YYZ Q doing a lot of that eastern flying? or is it mostly YUL? I don't look too closely at their bid pacs anymore. I also wouldn't be surprised if they didn't run an august bid again.. That eastern flying is being taken off the Q and given to rouge 319 There is lot of eastern flying out o...

Re: August Equip Bid
Once Rouge takes over all the YFC YSJ flying there’s not much need for a YYZ Q base. Do YYZ crews continue to DH east or west to start every pairing? YVR Q base will continue to grow. Out east do we open a YHZ Q base? Way more flying there for the Q than YYZ but open a base or continue to dh crews f...

Re: Are Amber Alerts affecting your flight safety?
Turn it off when you go to bed. Hell turn the whole phone off. It's what I do. Airplane mode of I need my alarm (though easily remedied by getting a cheap alarm clock) If you are on reserve... kinda hard to do. I wish I could! I set my phone on do not disturb until my reserve time. At which it goes...

If this was more widely known I think more people would check their bag and reduce a lot of the gate check/full overhead bin issue

Re: Gate checking carry on in Canada
I heard it from a friend who heard it from a AC agent that at check in you can check a “carryon” size bag for free regardless of ticket type. This is at check in not the gate. Nothing about this on AC website. Has anyone ever heard/experienced this.

Re: Commuting In/Out of Uniform & CATSA
Only at certain airports. This is not a Transport Canada rule but rather a rule invented by a security clown-in-charge at one airport and copied by others. YYJ, YEG, and YUL are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. It’s a TC rule. Crew in uniform are only exempt from the liquids and...
