Re: new criminal penalties for labour price fixing and anti poaching

Will these regulations have any more teeth than previous ones, vis-a-vis union busting, blacklisting, etc.? I highly doubt it... mainly because there's no real appetite to actually enforce these laws/regulations.

Re: Check Those Notams

602.71: The pilot-in-command of an aircraft shall, before commencing a flight, be familiar with the available information that is appropriate to the intended flight.

You could go further down the rabbit hole and throw out 602.96 (2), and for good measure the always popular 602.01...

Re: Maximum of 3 aircraft permitted in Vancouver-area airports!

This isn’t Capitalism at all, BTW. This is the Liberal government ramming in foreign money in any way possible to distract from their failures, bagfuls of cash or otherwise, aviation safety (or lack of housing for everyone) be forgotten. Vote buying at its best, too. You're a bit of a broken record...

Re: Maximum of 3 aircraft permitted in Vancouver-area airports!

Instructors — WTF are you doing authorizing any student to fly in busy airspace and tie up radio time before they can understand and be understood clearly — the first time? Class C or D airspace isn’t the place for ESL lessons. You clearly have never instructed at an FTU with an integrated program,...

Re: Maximum of 3 aircraft permitted in Vancouver-area airports!

I know Vancouver culture well enough to easily believe this. Your opinion is duly noted, resident of the centre of the universe. :prayer: I'm not at all surprised that a lot of the training airports are having to restrict circuit traffic, places like YPK end up with the Montair shitshow and a coupl...

Hey! Who turned off the Accountant? Just another troll, in the long line of them, that has popped up on this site since the early days of the pandemic in 2020. There was that string of troll accounts from the wing suit guy... then the various "named" accounts, etc. Soon enough there will be a new f...

Re: Biennial flight review requirement coming to Canada from 2024

Or, how about scrapping this entirely; as it is in essence just some box ticking exercise and will do little to nothing to enhance safety. Aeroplanes are not falling out of the sky in Canada at an alarming rate, at least not at this very moment. So the idea that additional, and potentially prohibiti...

Re: Night VFR changes - latest proposals as of May 2023

I'm of the opinion both sets of proposed changes are stupid, overly bureaucratic, onerous, and will contribute absolutely nothing to the advancement of safety that hasn't already been accomplished. Better is the enemy of good, is the saying that seems to best sum up these proposals. People, pilots i...

Re: 182 crash at Langley

Latest rumour is both the driver and aircraft passenger are "okay", while the PIC has a fairly serious head injury which is why he was medevac'd. If you look at the photos, two people were extricated and led away from the aircraft prior to the fire taking hold. Kudos to the bystanders at Langley for...

Re: Electric Float Pump

That Milwaukee is a submersible pump, so it's not going to be particularly happy if you tried to adapt it for use as a float pump.

If you've got so much water in your floats that you need a gas or electric pump, maybe it's time to get those puppies out of the water and get them sealed up...

The other thing to consider, is that a lot of the language used in that release/article/obituary, tends to be that used in cases of suicide in an attempt to shield family and friends from further heartache and occasionally stigma.

If you're going to quote a "source" (although WebMD is a semi-questionable venue for medical advice, but so be it) quote enough to be useful. "Commotio cordis is a medical condition that happens when your heart suddenly stops beating (known as cardiac arrest). It usually happens when there's a serio...

Re: Still not asking the right questions

You're being intentionally dense. These things are reported about all the time, certainly long before COVID; because it was either a professional athlete hitting the pitch/ice/field, or an amateur athlete in high school or college... The reason they were, and are, reported about is because they happ...

Re: Still not asking the right questions

Sudden cardiac events can occur at any age, even without an underlying history of cardiac issues. It's not unheard of for teenage athletes to have sudden arrests during sporting events; and in this day and age it's more reported upon with the 24 hour news cycle and social media being so prevalent. A...

Re: 95% Of Corpses Received COVID Vaccination Within 2 Weeks Of Death

The Stats Canada site allows you to include and/or exclude years by clicking on them at the bottom of the graphs. Pandemic years would, obviously, be 2020-2023. Compare even 2019 to the last three years for a clear indication of significantly higher mortality rates amongst the population; and going ...

https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/71-607-x/71-607-x2021028-eng.htm Funny, because Stats Canada data shows the opposite to what you are inferring; that there were indeed excess deaths in the years 2020-2023 - at least provisionally for this year. Note the data points from years 2014 onward, and the...

El Capitan is obsolete, and hasn't had an update since 10.11.6 back in July of 2016. Your computer is also obsolete by leaps and bounds. Websites, service providers, and even Apple have made it abundantly clear that users of old operating systems and hardware will have an increasingly difficult time...
