Re: 17 year TA?
I agree with most of what you said. With the waiting for the show, I wasn't around in 2015 but in this case I can understand it because of the GGN integration. From my understanding the Jazz MEC is currently bringing the GGN MEC up to speed and that takes a few days. I bet we'll both have road shows...

Re: 17 year TA?
I don't think you really understand what is happening. It may be a ten year extension of the CPA, but to get it, we need to ratify the contract first. It will be a contract that goes forward as of Feb 1st 2019. We are not locked into the contract when the company comes to us and asks that we open i...

Re: 17 year TA?
If that is the case it is really a 10 year extension. We're locked in cost neutral until 2025, don't forget. The company has to give us nothing until then unless they choose. So if we were able to get significant gains NOW vs in 6 years I'm not totally against it. Road shows will be interesting tha...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.
I was speaking of Jazz. We have 200+ pilots with 30 years in. I was commenting on the 1 for 1 seniority with GGN. I think most of their pilots have only 1-3 years with the company. So why would they slot in above a 30 year guy? They'd just have their DOH at GGN be their date here. That's what 1:1 m...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.
What does this mean to us in the pool waiting for ground schools? Do we get bumped for ggn pilots coming in without going through the hiring process? my guess would be yes, which you can't possibly be mad at considering they are going to be out of work. I would not be mad if that happens. My plans ...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.
Thinking out loud.... What does this do to the equipment bid? do they start from scratch and let the entire company bid since it’s a pretty big expansion, or are we all frozen as per the ‘previous’ contract? - would like to explore getting off the Q out west for a new look on something that’s NOT 6...

Re: 17 year TA?
Speculation is useless. I'll wait to see what the deal is at the road show instead of getting all worked up now. If anyone thinks we're getting %20+ raises they're probably crazy. We are not the USA and we are not frontier flying Airbus A320s for $40/hr. And we don't have the same pilot market as th...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.
Thanks for that. Would AC consider guys getting back into the industry? Live in ylw. Hoping for a YVR or yyc base. Been a while since I was in the game. Stuff sure has changed. Wow Yes. They can barely fill classes with anyone other than college kids. Apply away I'd be happy to have someone with yo...

Re: New hire bids
Sorry we really did steal the thread here. I'm going to finish my thoughts on the subject by saying this: Jazz is what you make of it. It is what it is, it doesn't pretend to be the greatest aviation job in the world and everybody knows the pay is sub par for FO's by a long shot. That all being sai...

Nope, I have flown with a few people who "rejoined" the industry.Citationdriver wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 5:05 pm Quick question. Does jazz have a, minimum 200 hour flight requirement in past 12 months to get hired? I have lots of jet pic 5k, AAs. Been out for 5 years. Coming back to fly.

Re: Schedules - home every night
No overnights you're looking at a place like Wasaya in Thunder Bay. Maybe Perimeter but I'm not sure if they are home every night. Most 704 carriers elsewhere have multi day pairings.

Re: Grooming Update
GROOMING UPDATE: JANUARY 11, 2019 The Pilots’ contract which came into effect just before the holidays has caused some impact on the line directly impacting Flight Attendants. Following the advice of their own union, Pilots are completing their safety duties before “volunteering” to assist with gro...

All that experience and Encore is your choice?Citationdriver wrote: ↑Sat Jan 12, 2019 2:20 pm Bummer. I was all ready to go. Have alot of jet pic, AAs, 5k and DFO, but been out of the game for 5 years due to family reasons. Any suggestions? Was kinda thinking being out would hurt me. IFR is current.
