Its a very straight forward procedure, I used to do them all the time when I owned a Cherokee 140. But, honestly, if you need to ask, then maybe you should have a real AME doing the Oil change. No offence intended.

You do need to follow procedure, call ahead and book the jumpseat. Then go to the gate, you get a pass that gets you to the gate. You cannot just show up.

The grass isn’t always greener, but I can say, I know Cargojet (through friends) and I know KFC , KFC is a much much better place but we sill loose guys to AC, Westjet and Harmony and just about everywhere else except Canjet and Cargojet. Must be something about companies with Jet in their names tha...

Only the Captains stay for the most part, the FOs and SOs leave when opportunities arise. We have lost many to AC, Harmony, WestJet, Sunwing, and Cathay. Curently we are severely understaffed (from a pilots perspective) where many FOs and SOs are working enough to get an extra months and a half pay ...

I believe that over the past year, Air Canada has hired much more inexperienced pilots than the most inexperienced pilot hired by Jetsgo. Last I heard all those new hires are flying jets. Maybe this reporter should look into that. Jetsgo may have had its problems, but its pilots always put safety f...

It shouldn’t matter what you put in your log book. If you're at AC, you should be there for life, meaning you want as little in your log book as possible (you don’t need to chase time to get a better job).

Call Kelowna Flightcraft, become an SO, spend a year or two in the back seat, upgrade to FO, then work on your career.

Sad. Maybe the controller made a mistake, but that happens. I think when we use the system its with the understanding we are all human and human errors will occur. Just a part of the risk we accept and try to minimize but will never eliminate.

Westjet Question

For the WestJet guys here, just wondering how long your average day is and how many days you work per month. Also, when you do work, are you away the entire time or do most of your trips bring you back to your home base the same day? Ok and since I’m asking (thanks for your patience) is it true YYZ ...
