Re: Making 200k+ and going to AC for 55k?

Vacation sucks here anyways so they're doing you a favor. Take a week vacation and they just cram your regular block into the other 3 weeks of the month.

Re: Making 200k+ and going to AC for 55k?

What is possible? Usually you don't get your monthly schedule until a few days before the start of the month. So if you have days off at the beginning of the month they're basically useless because you can't plan to do anything ahead of time. Suddenly, with negotiations started, we got our schedule...

Re: Relief Pilot hour logging

If you have the option, get a full type rating and start logging widebody FO time right now. The RP type rating is the equivalent of a training bond an...

Looks like the story has been retracted. Do you think they'll put the real story on the front page?

If it's really bugging you, block them. Respectfully, the government doesn't give a :butthead: and neither does anyone on this forum. The government does care a lot. They passed legislation specifically about this kind of thing. They even setup a pretty good website for reporting violations. If OP ...

Lots of King Air medevac pilots and Encore FO's in the latest Air Canada new hire bios. Not quite 250 hours yet but they're getting closer.

Re: How do new AC pilots survive?

Sold my car and take the bus to work, walk to get groceries, and rent a basement with cockroaches. Don't go out on days off or on layovers. Canceled all subscriptions and got a library card for entertainment and to use the internet.

Sorry. I'm packing a second uniform now instead of extra civilian clothes for layovers.

Re: Keewatin PC-24

Did they operate it in winter yet? How do they deice the t-tail for takeoff at out-stations? Same as the King Air 200s, PC-12s, Dash 8s, and ATRs in the area, I assume. So they won't then. I hope the tail of the jet can handle some some contamination as well as those other planes. Well not the ATR,...

Do you bring a second uniform on overseas pairings?

The suitcase isn't very big so I've just been wearing the same pants and shirt on the way home. I change my undergarments of course. I hope I'm not smelly.

If you have to a pay lump sum upfront it's a cash grab. Any legitimate school will let you pay as you learn. Don't fall for this. You're going to be at the bottom of a long list of creditors.

Is the hose on the truck so short it has to be parked under the airplane? Seems like an unnecessary risk.
