Well, let's see now. He couldn't actually be outing himself unless you actually were using the "reins". In that case, who's really outed here?

PS. The myth about the pitcher not really being "that way".......don't believe it.

Uhmm...politically-incorrect..... comparing the importance to his success of a race car driver's car and a basketball player's shoes is more than a bit ludicrous, don't you think? I think that most anybody that follows or competes in motorized racing would agree that car/bike/boat/airplane is perhap...

Hedley, if you count the Cold War, WMD, Iraq, possibly Iran and Pakistan/India it could well be that the atomic bomb did in fact set off a very serious chain reaction that could still threaten the earth. Just not the one they were thinking of.

Way too far West for you, but Centennial Flight Centre in Edmonton has a DFTE. Flight tests are scheduled at the customer's (i.e. student's) convenience.

Hard to believe there are schools that still get students without providing not just excellent training, but also top-notch customer service.

Some of it just comes with practice but there are a few things you can do. Be sure you know the layout and landmarks associated with your practice area. This will allow you to make precise postion reportst and will also help with understanding where other planes are when they report. Make your posit...

Thanks for the morning "coffee-spewer" istp.

Maybe you should buy a little Luscombe or chief or something and tour the country writing amusing aviation articles for someone like AVweb. Kind of like Dave Barry with wings. You seem to have a knack for hitting the funny-bone with regularity.

Having been in HR and done quite a few hiring interviews, I'll admit that the process is not fault-free. However, when you are considering employing a person about whom you know nothing other than what is written on a resume or an application form, something has to be done to try and assess them mor...

Accident-Prone Pilots

Here's a very interesting article. It's a bit long but I think well worth the time to read it all. Hopefully no one recognizes too many of their own traits.

I'm surprised that all the folks here who have previously advocated for the government to regulate and restrict the number of pilot trainees aren't responding. You'd think they'd be in favor of this type of government intervention.

Why don't you go to your closet, pick out your most favorite shirt, then go down to the store and buy a whole bunch just like it and wear it for THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. Sounds pretty dopey huh? Well, how is a tatoo any different? It's essentially one picture(s) you put on for the rest of your life. A...

I'm thinking of going to Russia this spring to play a bit of hockey and take in a few World Championship games. Maybe at the same time I could arrange a day to take that Foxbat blast myself. Anyone who wants to donate to my flight will receive a fully framed and signed (by me) photo proving the eart...

In case you missed it (and don't worry, many students do) try the Tips link on the top-right of the NavCan weather page. It won't teach you all about those reports, but it provides a good basic description of what's there for each one.

For Best Comedic Response to a Serious Post - (it's a tie between) - phillyfan for "If you lie fatty, we'll die" and cyxe for "If the "winds" are out of the northwest maybe cancel the flight that day" Kudos to them for their responses to the "weight and balance" post. I'm going to be laughing all af...

I agree, GP isn't the far north, but it is quite remote from any other big cities. Even living in Alberta and having grown up in GP, I would call it north as well. I would suggest you read the following article before going there. It sounds as though housing is very difficult to find and extremely e...
