Re: How are People Filing IFR Flight Plans?
Just don't turn my transponder on. They don't even know I'm there. But phone... In the time it takes to sign in online, etc, I could have already talked to someone at FIC, and been on my way to get a coffee. Plus it's nice to support fellow staff in aviation in an era of jobs going to computers I h...

Re: How are People Filing IFR Flight Plans?
The eApis part of Fltplan as stated earlier is the best part and worth every penny. The only issue I have had is accidently inputting Zulu time instead of Local. I wish they would allow you to select your preference.

This is one of the best tools for crossing the border, but it has a yearly fee. I find it way easier than the Government site.

Re: Daily Rate For A Small Turbo-Prop
I like the 300/500 model. If you are looking after the AC full time, 604, data bases, paper work, etc., maybe some guaranteed days / month are in order as well. 2 to 7 days / month at a rate that works and fits the operations?

Landing and user fees at most CDN airports. They are sucking the life out of aviation. They are continuing to have an orgy with staff, security, fire trucks and continue to drive up the costs of operating these tax payer assets. There is no accountability. Read the link below. Re: Boeing studies pilotless airplane
I doubt it. The only case to be made in favour of that is money. There is no safety case that favours a pilot on the ground above a pilot in the plane. Especially if the guy on the ground is the one with the “override” capability. You could cite the circumstances of the German Wings event as a poss...

Re: Boeing studies pilotless airplane
Once there is the ability to have global data, we are going to see one pilot and the co-pilot on the ground working multiple flights with the ability to override the one pilot and auto land in the event of an emergency or unscheduled event. He would be a handy resource and he would still be talking ...

I see one pilot in the aircraft and a co-pilot on the ground with the ability to lock out the pilot and auto land if required. He would be a pretty handy resource in the event of a problem. Once the infrastructure in 2027 is built out for data transmition and communication, look out! http://oneweb.w...

Re: Northern Operators threatened by 'absurd' Transport Canada rules
If they were worried about safety they would base a SAR team and Aircraft out of Edmonton or Namao and not Comox. The Minister sure seems to drink the Kool-Aid, great party member. Starting to feel like a communist country.

I already know of two Jets being moved to US reg as we speaker over this and the 604 crap. This kind of of red tape and Socialism is going to cause an unprecedented amount of capital flight and your going to have more in common with that Syrian's on TV than you ever thought possible. My advice is yo...

Sorry I meant Fltplan.com, as it has better route listings. I filed a trip to the US, didn't go, but Nav Canada called to ask why I didn't file the preferred route. So they do watch.

I have noticed it is being abused as well. There should be no need for loading up air crews with this crap, just deal with it or vector traffic for arrivals, etc. There are lots of tools in your tool kit to apply.(Speed, Vectors, holds Etc.) How does one CADOR the ATC system that we are paying to us...
