Re: Morningstar

Caravan bonus is 6K every six months. The 1st 6k is paid to you on your 1st check....... So there is no waiting around for the bonus to hit. You will miss out on some on the back end depending on when you started. The upgrade time on the B757 at the moment is less than a year. Driving to work at ni...

Re: Jumpseating for real

Jumpseats should belong to pilots. We have enough judgement to fly airplanes, we can decide who we can bring in. Jump seats belong to the owner/operator of the plane. If it's your plane, you decide. If it's your employer's plane, your employer decides. Your employer may be bound by regulation, or p...

Just taking a guess but probably so they can seperate the pilot applications from people applying for other positions; flight attendant, etc

Re: Is this true about Q-300 vs Q-400?

Correct. If they put an ILS in there it wouldn’t matter on aircraft type. Even with an ILS the Q400 could still land with lower RVR than the 100/300 And the airport would have to be certified for ops less than 2600 RVR, just cause the plane can do it doesn't mean it can be done at every airport.

So is that latest job posting from last week a mix of mainline and swoop flying or would someone hired be exclusively flying swoop?

Most likely they'd taxi over. Put one in feather and shut the opposite down, spray the one, start it up and leave it in feather and shut the other one down and spray that one.

10-15 days/month away from home still accurate? There's a mix of single days all the way up to 7 day pairings. Pick what works best for you. There's guys who only do single day pairings and haven't packed an overnight bag in years. Personally my sweet spot is 4-6 day pairings to cut down on the com...

Re: Time to have a real conversation about pay and our contract

Of course our union will say and have said that we aren't in a bargaining position with the company. The carrot is working all too well and we have no problem hiring new pilots who will accept the current pay. Once the applications slow down then we may actually be able to improve our pay

Re: Captain/Training Captain Pay?

Zipper, while I agree that your 5000 hours won’t jump qualified(ATPL) Pilots senior to you, it will help get into a training position. A training Capatain position requires you to have completed at least one recurrent ride, I could be wrong but pretty sure about that. However, you don’t need to be ...

Yes it happens a lot. Not sure if it's only specific bases/types but I'm pretty sure all bases have a mix of flying. I've had a few months that I didn't operate once into or out of my base

If this has to do with amex getting charged a fee, if we just bought the priority pass off the priority pass website and don't have the amex are we still allowed to go?

Thecommentsfor jazz are way off. On Reserve, my average number of legs on a day is 3. Sometimes I deadhead to an overnight to operate one flight home the following day. Some times I get a whole 3 or 4 day pairing, with an average of 5 legs a day. Next to none thus far have been over 6. I'm with mba...

Re: Jazz new hire pilot schedule

Depends on plane and base. During line indoc you don't really have a say in your sked. Once you start bidding you can ask for anything and seniority will dictate if you get it. The last 4-5 months I've been getting 14-15 days off per month on the classic. There are lots of single day pairings to bid...
