It's not mandatory...
But it adds a little something to your resume. You can also be based in Montréal and not speak french.

Re: First Job
Plenty of operators offers after 6 months on the ramp a right seat in some turbo prop aircraft, that can lead into solo flying on another type of aircraft after a few hundred hours discovering the region.

Re: Accelerated Commercial Ground School
Is there anywhere in Canada that offers an accelerated commercial ground school? Go PilotTraining.ca you will gain a lot of time if you're disciplined, and having access to the material 270 days after the enrollment is a very good use for the next steps of your training. Always good to refer when y...

Re: Accelerated Commercial Ground School
You can go and make the exam without telling your FTU if you have a the recommandation letter from PilotTraining. The letter of recommandation comes from Harv's Air which is a FTU and is signed by a certified chief instructor (M. Penner). TC is well aware of this website as this is widely used acros...

Re: Moncton Flight College vs Air Richelieu (Montreal)
Both places are good... One will say Moncton is better, others will say Richelieu is better. Go visit and talk to the owners/instructors, and see by yourself which one fits best what you are expecting from them. They key will be your assigned instructor. Don't hesitate to ask for a change if you fee...

King Air from Strait Air rolled off at the end of the runway. No one was physically injured, but four people were brought to the hospital by precautions.

Wasaya "Apprentice pilot" jobs
Hi, Just curious to hear from some 200hrs graduates that went on the "apprentice pilot" road with Wasaya. How long have you stayed on the ground before moving into a flying position and how fun was it up there in Red Lake and Pickle Lake? P.S. I find it very funny that a ramp job is now called a "ap...

Re: EIC buys MFC
There is no shortage for 200 hour pilots anyways, which is what MFC "produces". Keep in mind the 4000 hours TT shortage impact all the level of expériences... AC recruits at lower times Regionals recruits at lower times Charters recruits at lower times Flight School are having a hard time retaining...

Re: Category 1 AME renewal - color blind
The light gun test is probably the easiest for a colour blind to pass... Sadly, it's not available in Canada.
As per TC website:
"NOTE: The colour perception practical test is no longer acceptable."

Re: Category 1 AME renewal - color blind
D15 is your best friend. As said above, everybody that is color blind has been told they couldn’t be an airline pilot by someone who doesn’t know the requirements... www.color-blindness.com/color-arrangement-test/ Practice on multiple screens as the colours may vary. I did 15/15 on my optometrist ap...

Pascan et Chrono
Salut,
Je suis à la recherche d'informations sur Pascan et Chrono (horaire, conditions d'embauche, ambiance).
Quels genre de profils engagent-ils dans le moment (Instructeurs, rampies)?
Merci pour les réponses. PM si vous préférez.

Re: Whether to instruct or not?
While all your conditions listed come from pure selfishness from your part, it somehow (by total luck I would say) fit the bill of somebody unwilling to whore himself out to get a foot into this pilot’s job market. +1 Most of the critics comes from jealous people that would kill to have opportuniti...

Re: Whether to instruct or not?
It's the end results of the welfare mentality that has given this generation the mistaken idea that society owes them what ever they want. It's funny how your critic could be turned around and addressed at you. You are probably old enough to have seen the national debt rise from zero to what it is ...
